RCA Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female Audio Cable, RCA Y Adapter Extension Cord for Speaker, Phono, Amplifier, Audio Mixer, Car Audio 2-Pack

I had a channel go out in a 4 year old Logitech 2.1 system. I was using it as back speakers and sub woofer to make a 5.1 surround with my sound blaster audigy. So the splitter made both rears put out sound. Sound is fine and works again.

The description says, "NOTE: the rca splitter cannot be use for heavy duty subwoofers". Okay, I have no idea what a "heavy duty" subwoofer is, all I know is passive or powered. RCA cables transmit a line level (or low level) signal to a powered device that amplifies that signal, and whether or not said device is "heavy duty" is completely irrelevant. I am using this cable in reverse to sum the stereo signal from my Edifier R1280TS speakers to a powered subwoofer that only has one RCA input. Now, I've read all over that this is not supposed to work with a Y cable and the proper way is to connect just one of those cables to my subwoofer (say the right) , but I discovered that the bass disappeared if I moved the balance slider all the way to the left channel, so I was only getting half the signal to my subwoofer. Using this cable provides the full signal and I hear bass when I slide the balance all the way to the right or all the way to the left. Not supposed to work that way "they" say, yet here it is.

Works and functions as expected. Classic RCA plug design. Inexpensive alternative when needed for general use. Good product for the price.
