Best value! Durable, functional, comfy, good looking
I work at an animal shelter. I have 4 personal dogs and constant fosters, so the dog tools and supplies are a revolving door. I'm not a dog trainer, or a professional, I'm just an average Joe that uses a lot of dog stuff. I bought 4 of these leashes for my dogs and absolutely love them. 2 weeks later, I was gifted 4 high end name brand leather leashes that cost $60 each. Not worth it!! These faylife leather leashes arrive at your door already super soft and almost broken in. I used the fancy ones for a while but they just never felt right. I ended up losing a faylife leather leash and ordered a replacement. They come to you perfect, and only get better with being soaked in lake water and sand and mud and snow... Amazing price for a really perfect, durable, great looking leash.

Looks OK but two issues....see revised review at the bottom of this review.
I have a 30# Irish Terrier which is a very active dog so need a strong and durable leash. I have two older leashes from my two previous Irish Ierriers. This one is OK but for two issues.-The length is about 5'-4" long compared to my other two which are 6'. It is advertised as 6'.-The two ends are split and woven so looks fine....one of my other two are similar...BUT there is NO rivet or sewn lapped ends. That means the tag end is exposed and a dog will quickly chew on that and destroy it. Luckily I have a rivet kit so fixed it myself. As I recall it shows rivets in the picture so not the product I ordered*****update....I still haven't used this leash other than for testing. My original leather leash is still working fine. The more I think about it I should have returned this one and gotten another for two reasons:1. NOT 6' long and that is a major issue if your dog is used to that length. If you walk two different dogs they should have the same length leash.2. I am still bugged that they neglected to put rivets in to cature the ends...as I mentioned I put my own rivets in but you shoudn't have to modify a brand new leash just so it will last through the first few uses.I will keep this now as it is too late to return but will only use it for temporary use if my other leash finally dies (now 14 12 years old and going strong through two dogs). I wold not feel omfortable using this as my main leash for the two reasons above. Oh well....recommend you look elsewhere for a leather leash. I have a couple of other nylon webbing leashes but the leather ones are so much more comfortable to use on the hand as they slide and they have a bit of stretch to take some of shock at the hand of a dog that needs to be restrained.Hopefully this will last and survive as long as my other two...one of which is at the end of its life from hard use....but I don't count on it due to questionable short cuts in construction.

Great leash for small/medium size dog
Supple leather leash. We’ve used it daily for a couple weeks now for our 20# dachshund. He’s pretty good on a leash with some light pulling; easily corrected with some quick jerks of the lead. He seems to respond better to the leather leash v. Nylon with the same collar. The leash has softened up quickly. It has a natural finish on one side that flakes a bit. It’s has slightly stretched. Super easy on the hands. Has a good weight to it. Smells like leather but not overpowering and doesn’t linger on my hands after.I gave it 4 stars as I think it’s great for our dog but may not be sturdy enough for bigger or stronger dogs.If your dog is a chewer, they might be particularly attracted to the braided sections. Our pup is a light chewer so it’s easy to get him off of it and if I’m being honest, it’s become his gentle cue to us to get going. Ha!

Not durable enough for large strong dogs.
Not for a large strong dog. The 1/2 inch leash snapped in just 6 weeks of using it. This leash would be better if it wasn’t split in half where it’s braided. That creates a week point of 2 loosely braided thin lines, about 6-7mm each. One of them snapped at exactly that point. Aesthetically pleasing at the cost of durability, in my opinion. And no, our Doberman is not a vicious puller. Sometimes I have to give him a little tag to motivate him. That’s all. He’s a nice behaving for the most parts and absolutely non- reactive dog.Nice looking leash, but needs improvement. I wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful lead with excellent craftsmanship at an amazing price!2
I loved the first one I purchased so much that I ordered a second one to have as a backup!I have a 10 month old Aussie pup who's a pretty strong puller (improving every day), and I needed a leash that would be far kinder to hands than nylon, would provide a softer feel with some give, and that's priced at a point that I wouldn't be overly irritated if my little heathen chewed through it.This looked like it met my criteria. It arrived quickly and immediately exceeded my expectations. The leather is buttery soft and silky. It has a really nice weight. The snap is heavy-duty, and the handle design is nice and sturdy.Using this with my pup is a pleasure - the leather has a lovely elastic feel, so the nanosecond he gives to pressure on the lead (from pulling), he gets an instantaneous release. The leather is so soft that there's literally no risk of burning or chaffing if it's pulled through your hand, and since it's leather, it has a grippy feel that helps reduce hand fatigue. This is my go-to lead for training and walks and I never want to be without one! It's an incredible value, and with this level of craftsmanship, I expect it to last for years

lacks a promised feature
I bought a Fairwin leash in black from Amazon two years ago and I'm very happy with it. It's held up very well and is very comfortable. It has one difference from this leash. It has two metal rivets, one securing the handle loop and and the other securing the leather that attaches to the dog's collar. Those are the stress points and those are where leashes break. The description of this leash said it had a rivet below the handle. The photo in the illustration shows a man walking a dog on this leash with a rivet at both these locations. That's what I thought I was getting. I'm using this leash on an active and impulsive young active breed dog who tests a leash to the limit. Even though the leather is thick, comfortable, and high quality, it won't be durable without proper construction. I am not happy.
