Is this fun with just 2 players?

I play Bunny Kingdom with my wife and have a lot of fun.

Given that the new board size not openly stated in ads or on the box, this seems less than open and therefore dishonest obfuscation?

No.. it's just a standard sized board. I just got mine in the mail a week ago. Roughly 20"x 20" (don't hold me to that. I didn't measure)

What size card sleeves are needed?

I'm using dragon shield clear perfect fits. I'll be linking which ones exactly I got. I bought three packs, but you only need two to cover all the cards and have a bit to spare.
