My Hero Academia, Vol. 1: Izuku Midoriya: Origin: Volume 1

Finally starting my manga collection months after the show ended 😭 I have been a fan for years but never had the money to commit to starting a collection, well this is the start i guess! Reading it as i write this review and i love it, a bit confusing as the front is the back and the back is the front but.. whatever, it’s great!

Bought it as a gift for my sisters birthday, I've not really been a fan of MHA but I was being a bit cheeky and read a good bit of it. To be fair, its a really good book. I'd actually recommend it to anybody wanting to give it a read. Came perfectly fine, no damages.

Manga books seem to be the 'book of choice' for young teenagers. My daughter has enjoyed watching the Anime series and started the School Briefs 1-5 books for reading sessions. School Briefs are not manga (comic style) books but are novels which give a little bit more depth to the characters.She has finished School Briefs and has now decided to read these manga books. She enjoys them and actively asks for the next copy when finished, so they must be a good enough read for a 12 year old.For parents who are like me and not so clued up, the Manga series are not so suitable for English reading classes and a teenager will likely get through this in a night - for my daughter, this is more of a collection item. The quick read of these means it's not going to be cheap. A single book cost me £7, I have been buying 2 per week and have now told my daughter that we will need to find a more cost effective way of reading. A longer novel for school and these manga books purely for home.If you are buying this on behalf of your child, make sure you are buying the correct book, as there are so many.Also bare in mind, the binding on Japanese books are opposite to our western style. Books are printed right to left.The plot, she says, is very good and has had her gripped. The art work deserves absolute praise and allows the story flows well.Overall, I would rate these as a 5 star for the entertainment it provides. These are collectable and that also makes them desirable.

I originally just wanted the first volume to check how it compares to the anime. Love it. 100% pristine condition. I’ve currently watched all the anime and movies there is, so naturally loving the show, I wanted to try the manga. I heard that it was very fast paced and indeed it is, it’s a nice decent read and is very fast paced. But what makes it 5 star for me is all the little notes the author includes! It’s really adorable to see the behind the scenes, and their own opinions. It’s nice to know they enjoyed sculpting it as much as I enjoy reading it. Certainly buying a few more volumes!

A tier manga

amazing my daughter loved it so much she read it within a week !!! definitely purchasing the next one !!!

BNHA is my first foray into the world of manga. Watched the ongoing anime on Netflix first and was completely hooked! I couldn't resist buying at least the first volume for now when I found it on Amazon, since I am generally more of a reader than a viewer, and I love my graphic novels. The cover art and quality, as you can see, is stunning, and the work inside is beautifully detailed as well. Looking forward to reading and collecting all the volumes! Definitely worth the money, and the storyline itself is phenomenal, particularly if you're looking for a superhero world that is quite different from what the likes of DC and Marvel have offered us so far. Our protagonist, Midoriya Izuku, is absolutely lovable, and all the characters are well-rounded and make sense. Buy at least this first volume! And please don't be misled by one particular stupid review in the top five or six reviews here- this is NOT a children's comic book, it is meant for 13+ young adults and above, and I'd still only recommend it to 13 y/olds who read a lot and can handle some of the more mature themes in this manga, or else definitely 15+.

I got this cuz i never got to watch the anime and i loove the series now such a great manga its a lil short but still amazing

This is a very good manga and I 100% recommend for any age. It has an engaging story that makes you want to read more!

My Hero Academia seems to be quite popular overseas, so it caught my interest. It tells the story of a boy who has been sneered at and snickered at for dreaming of becoming a hero, even though he was born without any quirks.I thought it was ingenious to translate 個性 as “quirks.”
