Great bit of kit. Good as very quiet compared to lots of others good for kids and pets, cuts easy good on my beard. This is not made to be something you use every day as the build quality is not the best but for the price is great I will use it very infrequently by the time it breaks I'll just buy a new one.

It’s not a bad product per se but I would probably not buy it again. I bought this as a go between because I couldn’t get the shaver that I wanted at the time. I figured it would make a decent inexpensive backup if I’m caught short on a battery powered shaver or it simply just breaks. Despite being mains powered it’s not very powerful at all. It’s very slow at cutting and it’s almost as if the blades are dull because it pulls and tugs on hair as you are going over your scalp although it doesn’t hurt you can just feel that that’s what it is doing. If you have even 2 months of hair growth this thing struggles and you have to go over the same line several times for a clean cut. Suffice it to say my old battery shaver that died after 10 years of service was far more powerful than this. If you are looking for a primary shaver then I would avoid this one, if you want something cheap and cheerful as a backup then this isn’t bad but there are probably better options.

Wenn man auf Youtube nach Tutorials zum Thema Haareschneiden sucht, verwenden die Friseure dort fast immer die klassischen, meist kabelgebundenen Hair Clipper mit sehr vielen verschieden Aufsätzen und einem Verstellhebel (taper lever) für die Zwischenstufen. Nach schlechten Erfahrungen mit mehreren "modernen" Haarschneidern mit nur einem einzelnen, stark verstellbaren Aufsatz und Akkus in puncto Akkulebensdauer und Schnittleistung habe ich mich für dieses eher klassische Modell von Remington entschieden und bin damit zufrieden. + Kräftiger, dennoch nicht lauter Motor: Angetrieben wird das Gerät von einem oszillierenden, elektromagnetischen Motor (Die blaue Spule im Inneren wird von Wechselstrom durchflossen und bewegt so den weißen Hebelarm nach links und rechts, welcher die Schneide bewegt, wenn ich das richtig sehe). Er verrichtet auch bei dichtem Haar klaglos seine Arbeit, ohne langsamer zu werden und schneidet gut. Der Sound ist mittellaut und stört nicht. + Kabelgebunden: Keine Akkus, die nach ein paar Monaten den Geist aufgeben und die fest im Gerät verlötet und nur schwer auszutauschen sind + 3 Jahre Garantie vom Hersteller; 4 Jahre, wenn man sich beim Hersteller innerhalb von 4 Wochen registriert + Die Aufsteckkämme halten fest, lassen sich leicht wechseln und die Farbcodierung ist praktisch. Die Farben haben eine andere Reihenfolge als auf den Bildern des Herstellers, die Farben der untersten vier Kämme sind umgedreht (0 hellgrün, 1 gelb, 2 orange, 3 rot, 4 dunkelgrün, 5 türkis, 6 mittelblau, 7 dunkelblau, 8 violett), ergeben also nach Nummern sortiert keinen Regenbogen, aber das stört nicht weiter. + mit Hilfe des einstellbaren Hebels (5 Klicks, also 6 mögliche Positionen insgesamt) kann man Zwischenstufen zwischen den Aufsteckkämmen erreichen + die Reinigung des Geräts ist recht einfach: Haare äußerlich abbürsten, Tropfen Öl auf die Schneide, fertig. Die obere Klinge ist mit 2 Schrauben befestigt, aber die soll man laut Anleitung nur alle 6 Monate mal abschrauben und darunter reinigen. -- Zum beigefügten Video sei noch erwähnt, dass die Farben der Aufsteckkämme durch meine Kamera etwas verfälscht wurden: In der Realität sehen die Farben aus wie auf den Bildern des Herstellers. Außerden reguliert das Mikrofon die Lautstärke automatisch, weshalb der Motor im Video eher etwas zu laut klingt und die Klicks des Klingenverstellhebels zu leise.
