Why does it say brushless when I can see 2 brushes on the front?

There are 2 types of electric motors depending on how the moving part connects with the static one. Some have brushes that eventually need replacement and have less efficiency. The newest use magnetic fields and don’t need to move electricity to the center. That’s what the description is about.

Can it be used on a terrace for leaves and sand?

I would not use it under wet conditions (say: outside). Mine works in a large hall (cars, workplace aso) that is frequently open to the outdoors. Sand gets in, leafs and hay (horses). Don’t expect it to ‘eat’ piles of leaves though. Mind 2 things: 1. don’t save on the batteries (I use two 5 ah), otherwise you keep changing and charging. 2. Mind ‘stuff’ hanging around and sweeping mats. The machine might get stuck.
