Mühlhäuser Waldmeister Sirup, Woodruff Syrup

I know the stuff from back in the day when I lived in Germany. Can't get anything similar in U.S. supermarkets so I had to buy it online. I use it to mix with sour beer and it makes for one refreshing drink on the porch.

And my granddaughter loves it too

I purchased this syrup in an onset of childhood nostalgia. This is a typical flavor of German kids candy and jello, so I was hoping to bring some of it back. Unfortunately, it’s very sweet and the actual woodruff flavor is too mild in comparison. It’s a good product but I wish it would come in a sugar reduced version.

This is crap!

I don't know if I have a bad bottle or if this was a bad design, but the lid of this bottle came loose at some point, and the outside of the bottle was sticky. So, clearly some product leaked out. I tightened the lid, which felt loose to the touch, and after hand tightening with very little torque, the lid slipped threads and became loose again. There was no other plastic seal on the bottle on arrival, not counting the bubble wrap it was wrapped in. I do not know whether this is the fault of the seller or the product, but it looks like these bottle designs aren't really meant to survive being shipped in the mail. The bottle still looks mostly full, but I am not confident if it is still safe to consume or not...

So delicious in Berliner Weiße. I use it as a special treat when I get homesick for my country of birth.
