I like to make my own bread, but when I knead it in my kitchen aid mixer, the dough is so stiff, it makes the mixer “walk” across the counter. I have to stand right next to the mixer the entire time, or it could end up on the floor. In desperation, I decided to try the Dycem non slip mat. It fits under the mixer perfectly and completely stops the “walking”. I can now clean up my mixing mess while the mixer does the kneading. However, this mat REALLY prevents the mixer moving: as in, you have to lay the mat down, then lift up the mixer and set it exactly where you want it on the mat. The mixer WILL NOT slid on this mat and the mat will not slid on the counter. Just something to consider if you have a very heavy mixer, like mine.

This Dycem non-slip mat is perfect for my purpose - keeping Morse code keys from sliding when I'm sending code. This size was wide enough for two iambic keys and a bug and they now stay put. But if you are not an amateur radio CW operator, the mat is still great for items that tend to slip or slide when you don't want them to. The mat is pretty solid and provides a non-slip cushion for slippery breakables, etc. Dycem makes mats in various sizes and colors, as well as in long, strips that can be placed in hallways, bathrooms, and on other potentially slippery floors, counters, etc.

It worked quite well to keep a leg pillow from slipping off a stool. I only wish it had been a little bigger.

I have had my foot slip getting up from my recliner. This pad secures my foot and gives me confidence in transferring out of the chair.

This pad enables me to open bottles and jars one handed. Today I even grated cheese one handed. It has been super helpful while I can't use one arm after rotator cuff surgery. I bought the matching jar opener, which has allowed me to even open tough jars. I have had another Dycem pad under my Roomba's charging base the last few years. It keeps the base from shifting when the Roomba docks. I cut it to size so it doesn't show.

Very deceptive item description. No where does it say that it can't be returned, and it does not do what it claims. I bought this to secure a digital piano sustain pedal to floor and it slipped right off as soon as I tried it.

I am so happy I spent a few extra dollars on a mat designed for placement of items such as cups, bowls and dishes. Now, when my husband has a small bowl of ice cream, he can spoon it out himself without his bowl trying to slip away on him. This mat is perfect for people who have only use of one hand or limited use of both. It literally keeps the above mentioned from moving out of place. Simply run under faucet to clean. Very pleased, totally worth the cost. Plan on buying the round one too.

I know a few Physical Therapists so I have some experience with dycem. I bought this mat because my work laptop's "feet" fell off, and when I am at home the laptop slid around the desk like a hockey puck. Even though this is to keep dishes in place at a table, this keeps my laptop firmly in place on my slick desk. By guessing, I would have to say I have to apply 3 or so pounds of force before the laptop moves.
