Derwent Academy Art Set 30 Piece, Arts and Crafts, Academy Wooden Gift Box

This set comes in a lovely box has quality pencils in it, my grandson a budding artist was very pleased with it.

Fantastic for kids, but if looking for quality art supplies (for A levels or serious hobbyists), these are not for you. I was happy with this set at circa £7, and would pay £15, but more than that just isn’t worth it. The case feels cheap, the internals are the type of plastic that comes with selection boxes. If a gift, a recipient older than 12 would probably be disappointed.

good value and a nice starter set for the grandson who loves art

Firstly the positive - these are lovely pencils, well presented, and of obvious quality. I really cannot fault this set for this reason, and my granddaughter and I both enjoyed discovering watercolour pencils for the first time. But, and for me, this is a BIG 'but' - I ordered these as I am familiar with Derwent pencils, having visited the factory near Derwent Water in Cumbria many years ago. I chose these as I wished to support the 'buy British' campaign, and also a business local to me. I was massively disappointed then, to see those ominous 3 little words on the back of the packaging; "Made in China". Why oh why can't we continue to make these in Britain....? Does everything need to be outsourced to China for cost-alone reasons....? such is my disappointment that another British Company has 'sold out; to globalisation, that I most likely will not be buying future products from Derwent, despite the obvious quality.

Absolutely delightful set, in a beautiful robust box. Everything in it is an amazing taste of what Derwent's got to offer and it is a great gift, be it to a beginner or to self; the perfect selection of items and colors makes for a great motivational tool which just pulls you in and makes you draw and paint! I especially love that the nuances in regular and watercolor set are selected to compliment rather than duplicate each other, so it feels like there is a double amount of options right from the get-go.

The colours in this box are dull. Not the vibrancy that I expected. The price is also expensive for the number of pencils and a plastic sharpener.

Sono davvero soddisfatto di questo acquisto che consiglio vivamente per il suo eccezionale rapporto qualità/prezzo. I colori del prodotto corrispondono a quelli in foto.
