They charge the batteries it was purchased to charge. The one problem is the batteries try to slip out sideways as there is no restraints of any kind to stop them, but if left undisturbed that is not much of a problem. They go in something with internal charger, but I like to have a spare battery fully charged in the device and this keeps that backup battery charged.

This product has a very poor generating service from the component part of charging. It does not stay strong long and it does not stay strong at all. Please be advised I would never tell anybody to buy this part. I would like somebody to give me a better battery charger and a better flashlight cuz this one, honestly, is garbage. This unit is terrible it does not hold the charge at all and I've been trying to do it for the past month and it keeps dying every time I turn on once please let me have something that's good enough for me to use that holds power and light thank you.

I ordered to change this particular type of rechargeable battery that was part of my solar light. Actually found out my battery was unable to charge. I kept charger as it was inexpensive and adjustable to charge other size batteries . I ended up buying new solar top for my lantern thru Amazon.

It took 7 hours to charge my battery but I don’t believe it had anything to do with charger, instead in my opinion it was due to the battery being close to completely drained. I was also quite pleased with the price considering how expensive everything is these days, especially my Amazon membership.
