Perfect for sketchbooks and water pens
These were new to me until I did an online course. They're great. Very easy to use, and the pencils will last ages. I use a water brush pen to dilute, they're brilliant for soft outlines. Versatile, fun yo experiment with, and work perfectly in sketchbooks. Plus they're good value.

Graphitone pencils
Derwent products are always as specified and always very good quality. These graphite pencils are lovely. Add water and they make a wash. Haven't had time yet to play with them. Adds a new possibility to art work.

Very Nice
Just a beginner at drawing, but found these great to use like normal solid graphite pencils, but use a wet brush and you can get some nice shading effects. I've always found shading difficult to get looking neat using normal pencils/graphite sticks

Overall packaging good but the actual pack containing the pencils and graphite block had a hole so one of the graphite blocks had fallen into the box it came in.

Water soluble, love!
Works fine except run flat to fast for my liking, but I do love the water versatility.One thing I’m not happy with and rather perplexed is that the pencils were out of the package and rolling in the box freely, yet the package did not look damaged or opened wide enough for them to come out. It looked deliberate. I am seeing other reviews on varying products stating the same thing about the product appearing to have been deliberately opened. My guess is the packers aren’t being vetted and watched by the supervisors at these facilities. I’m not sure how to even contact amazon in regards to this. Not the first package I’ve had other packages that were tampered with. All these people getting products half full or broken doesn’t seem normal. Too many of them in my opinion.
