You won't regret this purchase
Having umm'd and aah'd about menstrual cups for a while and spent a fair bit of time researching them I finally took the plunge and bought these. I chose this option as looking at various reviews and feedback people didn't always need the recommended size and this item offers both at a reasonable price.I'm glad I did, based on age etc I am advised to use the larger cup, now having tried them out I know I only need the smaller one (the larger one leaked a little when in use, the smaller didn't).Before using the cup for the first time I looked at a few youtube tutorials, as many others have advised before me. I boiled the cups beforehand (I have bought a basic saucepan for doing this as I don't want to use our everyday ones). Then followed the advice of the videos; I tried putting the cup in before my period started to make sure I'd got the hang of it. It took a couple of attempts and folds to find the one that suited me best but after figuring that out I felt ready to try them. I was pretty cautious and anxious at the beginning of my period so it took a while to get the cup in the right position and out again, as time went on though I started to feel pretty confident using it and this got quicker. I did keep a pad in initially in case but I don’t feel I need to next time.Because I tried both sizes I boiled the cups mid period but I'm not sure that was necessary, I just didn't want to leave the cup dirty when stored. Following my period I cleaned the cup out, boiled it as advised and have stored it in a sealed tub, there is a bag that comes with it but I prefer the idea of a container I can clean properly.I've never been able to use tampons, I'm guessing due to my shape they leak, so this has been amazing. No more pads to deal with each month and less waste. I emptied it/ cleaned it morning and evening and otherwise forgot it was there. It felt a lot more hygienic too. I did have a small leak when I tried out the larger size cup, I'm guessing it couldn't open out properly, the smaller size was leak free.I had a couple of concerns for the first few days; going to the loo, to help get the cup out you push down as if going for a pooh, possibly ridiculous but this made me worry that it could come out/ move at those times, I did not fancy fishing it out of the toilet if it did, but all was fine. The other was that I run and was concerned that running a fair distance would dislodge the cup and cause leaks, again I had no issues.I did manage to drop my cup in the loo on the last day so I won't be sitting on it during insertion/ removal again, mid period that would have been a massive inconvenience! If you’re currently deciding whether to try menstrual cups like I was I’d say check how to use them and go for it. Once you get the hang of them they’re great.

Good, practice makes perfect and having two sizes to try for fit is great for a first time user.
I wish I knew about these 30 years ago. It took me a little while to get used to it and to put it in right. I tried the smaller one first as the large seemed a bit uncomfortable but I had leaks. Tried the large and once I had it fitted properly it's great. So glad I bought the set of two because it was trial and error and they are quite pricey to just throw away. I went online to find a few tips for fitting and found a different way to fold it than is recommended in the blurb, I couldn't get it to unfold that way, so I used the push down method where you push the side in on itself and that seems to pop open better when you give it a twist. I think practice makes perfect with these things. I'm not sure it would last 12 hours but I think everyone is different and has different flows. I wouldn't want to try to change it in a public washroom and if I did I would want to take wipes with me so I would say do it before you go out but that's just me.These are the only ones I've tried so I have no comparisons but they seem good. Occasionally I feel the tail of the cup but that's usually when I haven't got it in quite right. It can seems a bit scary to take out as well as it's really stuck with suction sometimes which is great from a seal point of view, but if I just leave it and try again a bit later it usually pops out no problem. Not too hard a plastic but it can be a bit pinchy taking it out if your not spot on with your technique. Washes easily, no staining and a good pouch to keep it in. I will keep using it and am sure it will get easier the more I do.I would say every woman should try them and with a bit of effort would take to one, try this first though as it was not overly pricey and you can get an idea of the size you need.

New user of menstral cup!
These arrived fast. I chose these after reading various reviews and thought it better to try the small size as other people had said a small size fit then fine even though they'd given birth vaginally! This box comes with a small and large size, so far I've only tried the small size and it works fine for me after having 2 natural births. I used panty liner though whilst trying this out and only needed them for minimal drips. I found this menstral cup is comfortable once inside and I couldn't tell it was there, the cup is easy to insert and first time to remove I was slightly worried as to where it was but as I have a tilted cervix I found it was just more to the left side; after practice it seems fine to remove. I have only used emptied whilst at home and it can be slightly messy so I'm not sure how this works when you don't have a sink close like in a public loo. I will definitely continue on using these as it I stopped using tampons because of learning about how they have toxic chemicals in them plus aren't good for the environment, I find this a cleaner feeling option compared to sanitary towels and it's much nicer to only use pants liners, I will soon switch my panty liners to washable ones too so I can ditch the disposable ones, save money further and be more eco friendly!
