Brilliant, neat and fun to use
A few years ago I was put off buying this chopper because of the label "a Delia cheat gadget" - not because of anything against the wonderful Delia but just not liking the idea of using a cheat! However, having bought one I would say that one of the things other reviews don't mention is how much FUN this wonderful gadget is to use. Its small but elegant design means it's a very neat and precise little tool. I really enjoy the whole experience of pulling it out of the cupboard to whizz something quickly, then rinsing the bowl and blade under a hot tap, without the chore of washing or dish-washing a full processor. (I've only dish-washed the bowl, blade and lid a few times, but for what it's worth I didn't see any sign of discoloration. Btw, the remaining motor housing is well sealed and easily wiped down.) Since buying the mini-chopper I've used it almost every day, and it shows no sign of wear. Mostly this is when cooking for two, but also easily for four. I use it a lot to make breadcrumbs for panรฉ: preparing Scotch eggs or schnitzels for two, the chopper can take all the bread in one go if you want, but I've found it's actually faster in two short loads - a mixture of short and long pulses. I also use it when preparing baby food from fresh vegetables or fruit for our granddaughter. And having being used to laborious hand chopping when making duxelles for Wellingtons, etc., it is such a pleasure using the mini-chopper to render mushroom duxelles in about 4-5 seconds. Indeed, I now add mushroom and cabbage duxelles to most casseroles and pies for a really intense flavour, alongside diced onion (I still prefer to fine-dice onion by hand), and the chopper copes very well with finely chopping a chorizo sausage, mincing turkey and chicken meats, and grating up raw carrots, cabbage, apple and sprouts for coleslaw. (My wife now says her favourite way to eat sprouts is to have them finely chopped and sautรฉed for five minutes in a little butter with finely chopped chorizo.) Very, very highly recommended.

Brilliant
This is a really useful little chopper, great for making bread crumbs & crumble and finely chopping onions, garlic and ginger, bought to replace a previous one that had ran out of power after many years of great service. One of my most used gadgets that doesn't take much space for storage

Kenwood chopper
I have mixed feelings about this product. I bought one last year, several months before buying this unit, however the first one failed to arrive in time for Christmas, so I ended up keeping it myself and buying this one to give as a gift for my son and daughter in law much later in the year. From day one I have struggled to remove the bowl from the base unit on the one I have. The product is also stated to be two different speeds, however, no matter how gentle I am with the button the only two speeds I've noticed are 'on' and 'off' !!! I cannot differentiate between the speed it chops at when the button is depressed half way and when pressed down fully. No matter how gentle I am, it disintegrates mushrooms to mush and anything other than rock hard cheese just ends up in a glob that rolls round the bowl. Having said that, when it comes to vegetables, it is brilliant and reduces the time for which they need to be cooked when making soups or stews where it doesn't matter if neat slices of veg is important. With this in mind and because I had a new grandson whose food would need to be chopped up small, I went ahead and bought the second unit as a gift. Big attraction was that the item only has a small footprint so my son would be able to find space for it in his crammed kitchen. However, although they have not said anything about the unit, I noticed that after only a few weeks of use, one of the lugs on the bowl had been broken off, clearly because of the difficulty in removing the bowl from the base unit. A few weeks ago, when the unit was less than 3 months old, I noticed that the second holding lug had also been broken off the bowl. So Kenwood need to address the difficulty removing the bowl from the base unit. Thankfully the integrity of the bowl wasn't damaged and the chopper still works. My one continues to prove fiddly to remove the bowl, but I obviously have more patience than my son and d-in-l, so I jiggle the bowl until I get it off the base unit. I do consider it a design fault though. Small tip. The bowl is acrylic so will stain when chopping carrots. Put a few drops of olive oil or similar onto a piece of kitchen towel and rub round the bowl to remove any staining. Works a treat.

Excellent small chopper
TBF, all of these small choppers are lacking performance to rate them perfect, however if compare like to like, this one is the best I ever had. This is my second buy of the same model, for I broke a lid of the one I had, and am very happy with performance. I want it to chop, and it does that perfectly well.

Great for grating parmesan
Really great little machine. I use this for whizzing up Parmesan all the time. I do a massive batch and freeze it in bags. You'll never look back.

Every kitchen should have one..............
I had previously owned a variety of food processors before I purchased the Kenwood Mini Chopper, but one thing that they all had in common was that I very rarely used them! This was because I have a good set of knifes, I am quite proficient with them, and they were easier to clean afterwards; another reason was that all the processors were quite bulky and I'm a bit of 'fuss pot' when it comes to having clutter-free worktops, so more often than not they were stored at the back of a cupboard and by the time I'd got them out and set them up I could have probably done all the work with a knife! Anyway, you may find yourself wondering why if my trusty old knifes were so wonderful I'd end up buying one these choppers? Well its simple really, I used one at a friends house and just couldn't believe how good it was! I ordered one from Amazon as soon as I got home; that was over three years a go, so here I am giving a review based on extensive use over that period. Ok, lets start with the main selling point of this gadget, its size; it is exactly as advertised, just 190mm in length and 145mm from top to bottom, with an overall weight of approximately 950g. The two things that are quite surprising considering its minimal size are its power and capacity; the motor is 300w, and this coupled with Stainless steel blades, means that it is very good at chopping most reasonable things you throw in it, I use it primarily for onions, garlic, chillies, breadcrumbs and herbs. The bowl has a capacity of 350ml (150g), this is enough for a decent sized onion or a big old hand full of herbs; it is incredibly easy to remove and replace on the chopper, and it is dishwasher safe! The chopper uses a simple One Touch Control for operation; basically its a big grey button on the top that you can either hold down for continuous or tap for pulse. The chopper will not operate unless the safety interlock system is engaged, so to put it simpy unless the bowl is properly in place with the lid attached completely you cannot make the blades turn. This is a really nifty gadget; it is well made (as frequent use over a three year period attests to), effective at its job, surprisingly powerful, aesthetically pleasing, space-saving, well priced and ultimately it does make life in the kitchen easier! Highly recommended.

Compact, Powerful, and So Handy!
Iโve been using this Kenwood Mini Chopper for a couple of months now, and Iโm honestly impressed by how powerful and convenient it is for its small size. Itโs perfect for quick chopping jobs when I donโt want to pull out a big food processor. The 0.35-litre bowl is ideal for everyday useโonions, garlic, herbs, nuts, even making small batches of sauces or dips. It chops evenly and quickly with its two-speed setting, and I love that the bowl is dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup super easy. The rubber feet keep it stable while itโs running, and the compact design means it takes up almost no space in the kitchen. Itโs become one of those appliances I reach for almost daily. Great value for the price, and itโs clear why this is an Amazonโs Choice product. Highly recommended if youโre after something reliable, efficient, and space-saving!

Does an Excellent Job
I have been delighted with this mini chopper. It really does an excellent job. I can vary how finely I want something chopped by using a pulse action until it is just the right degree of chopped. It chops evenly and I can vary it from coarsely chopped to very very finely chopped, virtually a paste. It is much smaller than you would imagine and takes up very little space on the worktop, but at the same time chops a good size portion at one time. Once I found the knack it was very easy to assemble and dis-assemble and there is definitely a knack to it. When I first got it I thought it was going to be much too stiff to open and close as I have arthritis in my hands which was the whole reason for getting the chopper in the first place. But there is a definitely knack to it. I turn it with its back towards me so that the pointed end is pressing against my body and then I press down and twist using both hands, one on either side. This way it is really easy to assemble and disassemble. I have tried many many choppers and have been disappointed with them all, but this one is marvellous. I use it to chop cooked chicken, mushrooms, courgettes, apples, it chops anything really. A very good buy.
