The Big Cheese Wind-Action Owl Realistic, Humane Decoy Deterrent, Scares Birds from Gardens, Boats, and Vulnerable Buildings with Rotatable Head and Reflective, Life-Like Eyes

We bought this just over a year ago to watch over our new garden sofa which became a pigeon magnet immediately after we bought it! It looks reasonably realistic but the yellow colouring on the breast is a bit unusual. We started by placing it on a coffee table but without weighing it down by filling it with sand as recommended and not surprisingly it kept blowing over in the wind. A £1 broom handle from the hardware store satisfyingly whittled down to a sharp point to stick into the ground solved the problem as soon as the owl perched on the top end. The pigeons were initially undeterred and we added in a “Stop Bird Pro” device. The combination of the 2 deterrents was 100% successful after a few months. The Stop Bird Pro battery ran flat but the pigeons have not returned and I think the owl has done the trick. The head does rotate as advertised but only if you spin it with your fingers - not in the wind. Buy!

A surprisingly effective bird deterrent that looks realistic and is lightweight enough to position almost anywhere in the garden. The wind-action movement adds a bit of unpredictability, which seems to help keep nuisance birds away from vulnerable areas. It's humane, easy to set up and weather resistant. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that some birds eventually seem to realise it's a decoy, so moving it occasionally helps maintain its effectiveness. Overall, a good value and attractive addition to the garden.

It didn’t have the desired effect that I was after as I had pigeons near it within 10 minutes of putting it out. Build quality seems ok but the head barely turns in the wind, it seems to serve more as a garden ornament rather than an actual deterrent to pigeons. The price was reasonable on Amazon as I had seen the exact same product in a garden centre for £25.

I tried everything to get birds stop eating the grass seed, nothing worked until now. The owl actually works.

Owl was too light, kept blowing off the table before the head even turned and no decent way of securing owl to a ledge. However good size but quality questionable.

Nothing is scared of this decoy. I have crows pigeons starlings all happily ignoring it. UPDATE: Now 5/5. The key is placement. I think the decoy needs a good silhouette against the sky to be more effective. Putting it with a wall behind it reduces the effectiveness. I've put mine on a fence which just has fields behind it. Whilst there are still a few birds about, the nuisance birds (crows, pigeons etc) are far less bothersome.

This does not scare the foxes or birds as they still come also I feel the animals are very clever and have realized it is fake owl

Ottimo prodotto. Esattamente come in foto. da quando l’ho installato sul balcone i piccioni non si fanno piu’ vedere. Quindi è un ottimo deterrente.l’ho posizionato su un punto alto per essere ben visibile. Essendo leggero l’ho fissato con del silicone per evitare che il vento lo porti via. Lo consiglio! 👍

Tengo este búho desde hace 9 años. Lo compré porque tenía un problema con las palomas en el balcón y, desde entonces, no he vuelto a tener palomas aquí. Con el paso de los años ha perdido bastante color, pero sigue cumpliendo perfectamente su función.

Installé sur la proue du bateau depuis une semaine, les mouettes se tiennent pour l'instant à distance. A voir comment elles vont réagir avec le temps.
