Wooden Animal Magnets − Educational Travel Game for Toddlers | Fridge-Friendly Toy | Age 2+ - FSC Certified

I bought these for my (then) 15 Month old daughter to entertain her in the kitchen on the fridges. Its one of those simple toys that I guess makes you think back to your old childhood - no microchips, noises or charging required. They were exactly what I was looking for - basic well drawn animals ranging in size from (approx) 10cm x 10 cm for the elephant, through to the smaller animals at 2cm x 3 cm (Duck) They have provided many hours (more like days) of fun for her - from learning what animals are called an identifying them, through to animal noises. Kids do like magnets (the joy of sticking things onto the bare white fridge) and she was often content just moving them around. So they have certainly educated her as I hoped they would. For value for money, I was very pleased with this pack. It contains a good mix of animals, domestic (cats, dog, rabbit) farm (cows, sheep, pigs) through to zoo (Giraffe, lion) A few months on and all are still as good as new. I'm even considering a second pack for her to play "snap" with them. So I would recommend these highly as a durable and fun educational tool.

Excellent quality and good value for money. My 20 month old daughter loves playing with these magnets. We have them on the bottom of the fridge/freezer and they keep her well entertained whilst I cook. They are a good size for to play with. They are quite aesthetically pleasing as far as children’s toys go.

Seems strong and safe for little hands - the whole back is a magnet rather than just a small one stuck on so seem safer for kids. Lovely quality. Well printed with bright colours.

There are 20 magnetic-backed wooden painted animals in this set - 7 wild animals and 10 farm animals, also a frog, fish and turtle. Our 2 year old grandson loves them and we really like the fact that they are all quite easily recognised animals so he is learning all the names and the sounds they make, and we take it in turns to take animals away and guess who is hiding. The magnetic back is flat so there is nothing that can become detached. The animals are both colourful and realistic, and they are a perfect size for small hands - not too small. They work well on our magnetic/dry wipe board (see photo) and also on the fridge etc. The set is good value for the price but there are two ways it could be improved - first there is no lid for the wooden box which is a pity. Second, if the figures had been made with straight rather than curvy bases you could also use them to make freestanding set ups in addition to use on magnet boards.

I decided to buy two sets of letters and two sets of numbers and the abacus too but for some reason I could only buy one set of numbers and letters. I get the whole rationing thing with food but with letters and numbers!? Strange but with no school at the moment wouldn't we want to teach our children more and get them to eat less. What a world we live in. Anyway, I'm sure its a stocking issue but it still seems odd to me. Anyway, on to the products. We bought a set of letters previously and thought we would get a couple of sets of each numbers and letters, an abacus and a magnetic whiteboard to "teach" our 3 year old at "school" as she doesn't go currently due to the pandemic. It worked, was fun and as she already had a small table and chair we set up a classroom and we got her to interact with the whiteboard. This is now a daily thing and she loves "school!!" We like Melissa and Doug's toys but my one frustration is "Made in China" why!! You have a UK brand, children, learning and fun. I'd rather pay more and buy British so I was a bit disappointed as there are cheaper out there obviously from the Far East. If we keep making this about money we won't have any industry left in the UK, this is nothing against China but we are being swamped and are in real danger of being run from afar. We need to be less obsessed with cost and care more about where we buy our goods from otherwise there are countries that will have all our money and we will be looking for landfill abroad too.

Brilliant. My granddaughter loves them.

Once my son began to walk, simple household tasks sometimes felt more like a episode of the crystal maze! He would always find something he shouldn't be doing/touching whilst I raced against the clock to get what I needed done. These magnets have been a god send as they keep him entertained and are teaching him new animals and sounds. They come in a lovely wooden presentation box and the 20 animals are; Turtle Horse Pig Lion Tiger Sheep Cat Elephant Cow Panda Duck Dog Zebra Monkey Frog Goat Giraffe Cockerel Rabbit Fish The animals vary in sizes are are brightly illustrated and importantly well made. I have several Melissa & Doug products and it's a brand I trust. As advertised, each animal is magnetic so can be placed on any magnetic service. My son loves to transfer them from the fridge to the washing machine and back. I highly recommend and have purchased additional boxes are gifts. I hope this review was helpul

I purchased these magnetic farm animals for our 14 month old grandson. We stuck them to the fridge and every time we have him over, he runs for his fridge magnets as soon as he gets into the house. They are brightly coloured and easy to put on the fridge and easy to take off. He loves to make animal sounds as he picks a new animal to play with. The backs of every piece are black and it didn't take long for our little guy to realize the black part sticks to the fridge but the coloured parts don't. He just loves these.

These caught the attention of our 1 year old immediately. The Magnets cover the full back of each alphabet so there is little chance of it falling off and being swallowed. They are much thinner than expected but they look great on the fridge and can entertain our little one for a good stretch.

Mia figlia ha da sempre una passione per le calamite, e visto che me ne ha rotte parecchie, ho deciso di spostare le mie in un posto non raggiungibile dalla nanetta, e di prenderne qualcuna per lei da attare al frigo. Guardando un po’ su Amazon ho visto queste, ben recensite ed a forma di animaletti, ed ho decido di prenderle. E’ arrivata una simpatica scatolina di legno, con dentro le 20 calamite. Le calamite sono di legno, spessore circa mezzo centimetro, sono molto carine, con disegni belli e colori vivaci. Una delle cose che ho più apprezzato è che la parte magnetica è molto sottile e ricopre tutta la parte posteriore della calamita, non hanno quindi usato le calamite a bottone che, si staccano facilmente (vista la quantità di volte che queste calamite finiscono a terra sarebbero durate molto poco), senza contare che quelle a bottone sono pericolose perché possono essere ingoiate dai piccoli. Fatte così, non graffiano la superficie del frigo, aderiscono molto bene, ma non serve comunque molta forza per staccarle, quindi la mia piccola ci riesce con facilità. Mia figlia ci gioca abbastanza, ma non così tanto come avrei sperato, probabilmente non essendo proibite come lo erano le mie calamite, hanno un’attrattiva diversa. Comunque sono state utili per insegnarle a riconoscere gli animali, ad imparare i loro versi e ritengo siano molto utili anche per aumentare la manualità della bimba, che deve gestire in modo corretto la manina per staccare/riattaccare le calamite. Peccato non ci sia un coperchio vero per la scatola (nella confezione c’è un coperchietto di plastica che però non si fissa alla scatola), sarebbe stato utile per riporre le calamite in modo da poterle utilizzare anche come gioco da “passeggio” o riporle in modo ordinato. Gioco comunque consigliato!
