Good little bit of kit,altimeter needed calibrating live near beach popped down and zeroed it,compass easy to do as well,would recommend.

Well packaged, that's the only good point. Un charged. Difficult to understand instructions, you have to guess how to charge it. The charge cover doesn't line up, once the cable is rammed in it will charge ONCE. I had mine a few months, now the weather has improved, it's flying season again. I need an acurate compass and altimeter. Now my unit doesn't work at all. Save your money and don't buy this model, I'm saving for one that's guaranteed to work every time it's used.

Delivered on Sunday and used on a Munro walk on Tuesday. The main reason for buying it was to have an easy-to-access and easy-to-read altimeter, simpler than digging one's phone out of a pocket, or pulling a sleeve back to read a smart watch. Setting up the device was straightforward and it was simple to skip the unnecessary functions. Compass, Barometer, Altimeter, Back Light and the LED "torch" are easy to access; perhaps a little too accessible as when putting the device into a pocket, say, you can accidentally change from one function to another. The LED torch is inadequate in a dark room, for example, but it is enough to read a map in darkness. Having set the altimeter while sitting on a contour at 100m, it was then approx 30m off (low) when standing by a cairn at 944m. You need to check the barometric pressure setting a couple of times before putting too much trust in the altimeter. The cord attaches easily to a carabiner and, having been snagged a couple of times when taking the rucksack off, the cord has more than enough strength. The compass seems reasonably accurate but it's not like the Silva and is best used just as a quick check rather than for precise navigation in poor visibility. It's early days but so far so good.19th March. During another hill walk, the altimeter function was 40 to 60m out. Another check was to compare the altitude at the start point before the hike and after; the two readings were significantly different. Also, the compass bearing wandered considerably. The supplier, Sunroad, was very helpful although they maintained that the device is inherently accurate which is not my experience. Sunroad recently brought out a GPS version so I’ve returned the FR500 and ordered the FR510. The 510 uses the Beidou GPS satellites which have recently been extended to provide global coverage.

Am ok with it , would ov been a great if it had a memory for the time & calendar. Each time you switch it off & back on you have to reset everything 5/10

Marvellous just what I expected.

Not accurate. Not easy to use

This arrived in good time but I wasn't very pleased with the item, so returned for refund. The instructions are complicated and it's difficult to use and the device is not accurate.So basically everything you want it to do it does badly. I spent a few more quid a got a much better version, British built so it's much better for instructions and build quality.I never managed to get the light to work.If nearly £30 ,it's not worth a tenner

Perfettamente funzionante, tiene la carica per mesi senza mai necessità di essere spento. Unica pecca a mio parere un po' complicato da imparare ad usare essendo le istruzioni molto molto sintetiche

ce produit m'intéresse professionnellement mais j'ai un gros problème pour son utilisation car je n'arrive pas à obtenir une notice en français. Pouvez-vous me la procurer sans quoi je reste dans l'impossibilité d'utiliser SUNROAD. merci de votre aide

Macht was es soll und das tadellos. Der eingebaute Akku hält enorm lange. Es gibt nichts negatives zu sagen.. .

Wir haben dieses Geräte 2018 gekauft, für einen kurzen Urlaub genutzt und dann - Corona-bedingt- an die Seite gelegt. Jetzt wollten wir es wieder aufladen und stellten fest, dass die Ladebuchse im Gerät locker war und sich mit dem Stecker in die Tiefen des Gerätes schieben ließ. Nach dem Aufschrauben konnten wir sehen, dass der Anschluss lose im Gehäuse herumflog (Siehe Kugelschreiberspitze!).Dieses Gerät ist kein 4,99€ Artikel und die Enttäuschung ist groß! Wenn ich könnte, würde ich das Gerät reklamieren - leider ist - wiederum Coronabedingt - zuviel Zeit vergangen. SCHADE!
