Dark Olive is GREEN!
I ordered a couple of different styles of Vasque boots. These seem well made, but also seem to run a little large compared to my running shoe size. One other note: while dark Olive looks pretty tan in the photos on the Amazon listing, these boots are GREEN! That snuck up on me a bit and I'm hoping to save someone else that surprise.

Tight through the bridge
I always worry that breaking in waterproof / goretex membrane shows will impact the water resistance or the binding to the sole. And these boots (in 8 and a half, true) are definitely "short" across the bridge of the foot / require some stretching to be comfortable. And then it'll be a year to find out how they age.

Vasque is back on top of their game
Vasque took a hit in quality when they transitioned from traditional leather boots to manmade materials; however, it looks like they are back on top of their game. I bought a pair of Vasque Breeze boots about six years ago as a pair of 'kick-around' boots because they were on sale. However, six years later, they are still going strong even though I have worn the soles out. I can't say that about far more expensive hiking boots I've owned. I have high hopes for these boots, given their design, and that's why I chose them. It's almost as if they are a one-piece boot with no sewn seams to come apart. They are light and comfortable right out of the box, as most modern boots are nowadays. I expect the soles to go first, but not until I get my money's worth out of them. The problem with my other boots is that the cement fails, and the soles start falling apart. Since this was not an issue with the Vasque Breeze boots, I expect these boots to perform as well or better.ALMOST 1 YEAR LATER: After putting these boots through numerous hikes and wearing them a lot, I couldn't be happier with my choice. There are a couple of things that I find outstanding about these boots. One: They fit my foot like custom-made boots. I couldn't ask for a better, snug but comfortable fitting boot off the shelf. Two: The soles of "pop" (read fashion wear) boots seem to be getting huge and fat, like a pair of Yeezy sneakers. If you want to maintain your footing on irregular terrain, you need low-profile soles that are not too wide or high so you don't turn your ankle. These shoes are great in that respect.

Outstanding.!
Great boots with perfect ankle support The fit and the height of the boot are spot on. This boot offers the ankle support of a much taller boot. Super comfortable, great fit out of the box. Tread, weight, waterproof all wrapped up in a great design and aesthetic. Excited to put more miles on them!! Thank you Vasque.

Awesome but one BIG problem
Pros: water resist, ankle support, tough soleCon: inside padding near toes collapsed causing one boot to feel like it was 2 sizes too small.

My Experience
First impressions:- Below the ankle it seems like a fine boot.- I have a relatively narrow foot and even cinched tight, the LACES ARE TOO SHORT.- Tongue is too large, simply too much of it as you cinch the boot.- The sole is agressive which is good for traction or if you encounter mud or gravel or even wet grass.- The boot is a little higher than most which is good for both ankle support or crossing something wet.- The boot is a little narrow which is good for my slightly narrow foot. You will be able to wear a light or perhaps a medium weight sock, not a heavyweight sock; that may impact you if you plan on wearing in the colder months.- Overall I like it but I'm still determining whether it checks enough boxes to keep.SAVANNAH WILL

Comfy, but heavy & a little stiff
I've been a fan of Vasque for years. Great shoes. It's no wonder SEAL Team Six chose Vasque for the raid on Osama Bin Laden! I was excited about this pair of hiking boots. I really liked the Sage color scheme, but they were only available in women's sizes. So I sprang for the men's color scheme. NOTE: THE COLOR IS MUCH DARKER AND A DIFFERENT HUE THAN THE PICTURE DEPICTS! The size was right on & they're comfortable. I must admit, though, they are quite heavy... especially for hiking. The upper area around the ankle is also very stiff and the layers of material are a bit too thick. That said, I'm happy enough with my purchase, and I'll stick with Vasque for years to come.

Muy comodas!
Verdaderamente comodas. Desde el primer dia que las use, pareceria que traia puestas algunas botas con mucho tiempo de uso... cero molestias, cero puntos de presion, ancho perfecto. Probablemente para alguien con pie angosto resulten amplias.
