Laerdal F75441 Stifneck Select Adult Adjustable Collar

Not the most comfortable brace to wear over long periods, though strictly speaking that's not what it was designed for. Once I popped a bit of extra foam on the blue front section all that changed. A great price, very light and supportive, easy to adjust and to take on or off, unless you have a jumper or hoodie on. Best thing is it isn't a grim beige colour! Will push your posture where it should be almost by default, not really comfortable for my muscles after years of leaning to my front right. I brought it to see if a neck brace that supported my chin would help me and for a tenner or so it was worth doing, I could of claimed the VAT back but didn't get the application in (how I'd love Amazon to provide an online form!). Now I need to decide if I take the plunge on something more costly or carry on with this, some spare memory foam and a roll of micropore tape! Any other Zebras out there with CCI/ Chiari or R.A. looking for a brace be prepared to pad it out. I will be carrying on with this as it's better than laying down all the time so may well post a further review to help those in a similar situation to myself.

This is a medical grade collar designed to support the neck in a neutral position it does this by supporting the chin and preventing the head rocking backwards.I'm using it to help a neck injury heal by preventing me dipping my head when reading and using a computer. It does the job very well, the brace is comfortable to wear ( I wear it for c 60 mins at a time).It isn't designed to wrap around the neck like some neoprene or foam collars - I've tried a few - which means it doesn't restrict blood flow (using an inflatable collar felt like being strangled which can't be healthy) or get sweaty (neoprene and foam).It has to be adjusted to size - easy to do - the 'select' version is for adult and seems to be well sized.It's a clever design - light but stiff - and can be opened out flat to store or transport.Recommended.

According to the instructions I should use the full height, 4 fingers. If I did that I'd look like one of those women with neck rings. Set on 'No Neck' and its still to big. I'm 6' 2" with 17 1/2 inch neck. It's just useless and stupid. Why is it even for sale. Returning it .

Fantastic collar! Firm, strong, and very comfortable with soft, flexible padding. Allows lots of air so it's not hot. I bought it for a friend who suffers 'drop head syndrome' from masses of radiation therapy he had 35 years ago for Hodgekinsins (cancer). It is very comfortable, holds his head up fabulously and supports his chin comfortably, taking all the weight of his head, and he wears it loosely so he can still turn his head from side to side while wearing it. It keeps his head up so his head is no longer hanging on his chest. What a fantastic neck support. Just the ticket. Brilliant.

I had C5/C6 discectomy and fixation. I needed the collar to travel in the car (no actual driving for 6 weeks). I have used it a few times but my surgery was only on 6th February 2017. The collar held my head in place but I still had to hold onto the door handle to keep my body in place as well as using the seat belt. You are advised to store the collar flat. personally, I think you have to bend the collar to the correct shape of your neck and I think it is wise to leave it in the 'bent' shape for when you need to use it. If you have this operation you should not wear a collar as you need to use your neck muscles. this collar should only be used for a car journey.

I bought this as a present for my brothers 21st and he seems to love it, however, I have no idea about medical equipment but he said it came in a sterile bag and was just as he was expecting. I was disappointed when he told me that you can only use it once as I thought I was buying him a 21st present I thought would last! But that is only the fault of my own. Overall, I can't fault it!

I have 3 bulged discs in my neck, and this collar is very good at keeping my neck straight, when I feel I can't hold my head. I'm tall with a long neck, and it's perfect for me. My physiotherapist is very happy for me to use it when I need to. Not for using all the time though!! Neck muscles should be worked and built up ;)

I researched many before buying this. I was looking for something easy to adjust, of decent quality, and would hold the neck in place. This product checked all boxes and was so happy AFTER using it as this was exactly what I was looking for. I am using to keep head in place while transporting patient in stair chair that does not come with neck support.

This works and fits. The shortest setting is just barely short enough. It stabilizes your neck and is ventilated, so its more comfortable than a foam collar when its hot.

Kenne die Teile noch aus meiner aktiven Rettungsdienstzeit. Da ich öfter mal Schmerzen im Nackenbereich habe, und es angenehm ist den Nacken hiermit zu stützen, habe ich mir diesen Stifneck privat bestellt. Qualität wie gewohnt. Stifneck ist leicht einzustellen und noch leichter anzulegen. Entgegen einer anderen Meinung unter den Rezensionen ist der Stifneck sehr wohl alleine anzulegen. Kinderleicht sogar. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
