I have quite a few Tacklife tools, which generally have survived pretty well. However, I use them vary rarely. I bought the NCV tester back in March. I probably used it twice, once then and again in Summer. I went to use it again, after being sat in the drawer and of course, it wasn't working. I assumed it was the batteries. Replaced the batteries and it had a distinct rattling sound. turns out, just being sat still for a few months was enough for the battery connectors to perish and it had essentially disintegrating inside. Not worth the money - but if you want something for one job it would do as a backup for that one job.

Appears to work okay, however, it is somewhat over sensitive! I needed to check for live wiring in my airing cupboard and it would go off as soon as it got past the door!! In the end I ended up having to use my old multi-meter to check the wiring manually.For the money though, certainly a good investment if nothing else to check where live cables run through your walls!

Trust in your voltage tester is a must. Used this as a primary tester on a week of DIY lighting work and had no problems at all. It's simple, reliable, and quite light so perfect to keep in your top pocket. They also included batteries in their tasteful recyclable packing which was a nice touch Ty guys.

Not a took I use every day as a DIY’er but essential for the toolbox and for the price!If you switch it to sensitive mode it seems to pick up some (depending on. Depth and surface cover) live wires in the wall too! But not accurate enough to know where to drill, still very good to ID of wires are live in the general area!Would buy again!

Awful, just awful. You have no idea where the live wires are because this piece of garbage detects everything including fresh air. It just beeps on practically anything it touches, and is only fit for the bin.

Stopped working after 3 minutes. Light works but doesn’t detect any voltage even when placed directly on exposed live wire.I am going to buy a fluke and see if that is any better. I’ve had 3 of these cheap detectors recently and they are all now in the bin

Feature packed item. The built in flashlight is a very good idea as is the sensitivity which places this item above those that cost five times as much. Very good purchase.

Not working as intended. Beep and red light when you touch anything. even your hand. like a toy. Can't detect the electricity. it beeps for everything.
