Great tool (when paired with the box cutter)
Makes light work of hogging out back boxes (in the brick or block) but you need the matching cutter to really work well.

Very poor quality and damaged my drill
This drill bit is very poor quality. used it once on brick and altho it did cut a hole perfectly well. the metal the bit is made from does not stand up to the heat produced whilst drilling. It sort of welded itself inside me drill and amazon offerd me a refund for the bit but nothing in the line of compensation. my advice is to go to screwfix and buy a real armeg or erbaure ebs cutter. yes they cost a bit more but will save you having to replace a £200 drill!!

Works well but be gentle.
Used this to fit 7 back boxes. Worked really well. One did break but Amazon sent another with no issues. Reduced the hammer action power down to level 3 (max was 5). Just let it do the work don't push too hard.

Works Well . . . but
Works well . . . but not sure how long it will last. I have done about 12 and it coped well, but if the brickwork and mortar is old then it can damage the brickwork and make fixing the back box difficult as the guide holes use up the centre screw holes or are too close to drill to. So you are then reduced to the outer fixings which if they have missed a mortar line and are sound then you are OK. Works better on new external and internal blocks. Not sure how long it will last and stay efficient as it is as only wear and tear will show. So overall made the job quicker and easier, but can damage the bricks in the process. So whether it is better than pre drilling lots of small holes and then chiseling out the remainder depends on how good you are doing it that way. Bought this with the box cutter and definitely wouldn't buy that again. I was much quicker finishing of the corners with a scutch chisel after this cutter cut the bulk out. The box cutter seems to bounce around too much and causes more damage the brickwork at the back and seemed to take forever to make much of a difference.

Good tool for getting depth in house brick.
Used a couple of times for back boxes.Cuts nicely onto house brick and lets you get a nice depth.Originally ordered with box cutter but ended up binning the box cutter and just using this and a chisel. Also bought a power chaser to help.

Dangerous Item.
Not Safe. First use of bit. Before fitting to SDS drill I drilled pilot hole as necessary. Once fitted I ensured bit was securely attached to threaded shaft. I presented to breeze block wall and cut to depth of about 2 cm. The photograph shows what happened. Only in use for 30 seconds. Dangerous when splitting as one part projected 2 feet away from me. Poor quality. Not recommend for either the DIY enthusiast and definitely not for professional use. Box says Guaranteed Forever

Broke in first 10 minutes
One of the two cutting blades broke off after only a few minutes use and left a raggedy hole but otherwise was going well in homogenous materials, but not much good for dodgy bricks.

Do not buy
Spend a little more on a better product initially, because you'll be buying again anyway. I bought this and it fell apart on the 4th hole. Each hole was about 100mm in depth in 20mpa concrete and the 4th hole only got to 5mm deep when it fell apart. Now I have to go and buy the product I should have bought in the first place.
