MTD 931-1034B Chute Deflector Assembly

I have a Husky 22" 5 1/2 hp push mower (MTD 11A-508N731). The original part was 731-1034B, which has now been replaced by 931-1034B. The cover just bolts on with 2 screws, used the same screws from the old one. Only issue was it didn't have threads in the plate of the new cover, so it's a little tricky to get started. Once you do, you can tighten them down no problem.I would have liked to have seen a better design, it's still just as breakable as before, attached only by soft plastic. But that's how companies make money, by selling replacement parts, or by making you buy all new products, right?

Ok .WE all know the price is a little high for this piece of plastic.., but my eyes are far more valuable than the price of this.. Perfect fit for my MTD .. And guys..The screws you remove from the existing bracket ARE SELF TAPPING SCREWS... To make the install EASY .. Take the old screw out.. Place the screws squarely into the holes that need to be tapped , and use your wrench to TAP the 2 holes BEFORE you put the bracket on.. then unscrew them.. And put the bracket where it mounts ..This will make installing the bracket a breeze.. Good luck..

Like other reviews state, the chute does not come with bolts. However, I still had the plate and bolts from the original chute and I imagine most people do. So if you use your old bolts, they are self tappers. Just squarely drive them into the new plate and you are all set. It takes about 5 minutes.

Easy to install

Super easy to install and great replacement product. I have a 20 year old lawnmower that still works but the side chute broke off. Purchased this replacement and back to new. Would recommend to anyone vs buying a new lawnmower.

Got just what I needed in this product...perfect fit for my mower. Couldn't remove the old plate from the mower so I had to remove the plate that was attached to the deflector, take out the spring and pin and then insert the spring and pin onto the old plate already on the mower through the deflector. Not an easy task (for a woman) since it requires some real hand strength, but I got it done and it works great!!!

I tore off the chute deflector when mowing, ordered this & works like a charm. Easy to put on also.

Almost exactly like the OEM part. It does require that the original screws be used to install this part, so make sure you save the ones you remove when taking off the original part (they are self tapping in the holes on this replacement part). Fits just right and works as expected. Quality appears to be very good.
