CoCo LoCo Wonderball Ceramic Hair Waver Wand - Get Beach Look Tousled Hair or Wild Bohemian Curls with a Salon Quality Barrel Wand

Over the last 15 years, I have searched high and low for a curling wand that will deal with my hair; I hate to think how many different ones I have tried. For reference, I have longer than shoulder length hair - it's quite thick, does whatever it likes, is pretty much poker straight and really requires a LOT of effort to get it to do anything remotely interesting. My previous, ancient Babyliss curling tongs are completely useless on it now which is why I was looking for a replacement in the first place and had been eyeing up the Wonderball. For starters, it looked awesome with its rose gold and pink colours, had added coconut oil in the wand and promised to give either curls or waves depending on whether you wrapped the hair around the balls or in the grooves - Ideal! I had already purchased the Lee Stafford CoCo Loco Blow and Go Nuts hair dryer and a few other products from the CoCo LoCo range and had already been impressed, so when I was offered the opportunity to review theses for a fair and unbiased review I jumped at the chance.In the box you'll find the wand and a user manual which gives you simple instructions on how to use the Wonderball wand. I did find that the stand had popped off the wand and scratched the barrel slightly, but it was no biggy, it popped right back in and doesn't affect it in anyway.To use the Wonderball, you simply plug it in, turn on, pop it on its stand on a heatproof surface and let it heat up for a few minutes - I was impressed with how quickly it did heat up having previously spent a good twenty minutes waiting for tongs to heat. To create curls or waves you wrap the hair around the wand and hold it in place for a few seconds - there is no clamp to hold the hair, which stopped me getting it tangled or snagged which I really liked. To start with you might find it a little awkward, but it does get quicker easier once you get the hang of it (Which didn't take me very long at all). It helps that it has quite a long cord which also swivels for ease of movement - now the only down side with this is I nearly burnt my fingers as it's a little fiddly to do shorter hair at the back, so I'd recommend using a heat proof glove with it for extra safety/ asking someone to help you, but this was the only place I had this issue. I managed to wave all of my hair in under 20 minutes - this is crazy fast, previously it had taken me anywhere from forty minutes to an hour to get the same effect. I suspect with more practice I could curl my hair even quicker than that using the wand. The wand is just so easy to use, I was also impressed with how soft it left my hair too - some tongs have left it feeling a little 'crispy' but not with this wand. The curls staying power is pretty good too, I tried this out last night with no added product and it's still here this morning.I'm absolutely in love with the Wonderball wand and will definitely be getting a LOT of usage out of it! (No more boring hair for me!)and will be re-homing all my previous tongs! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for an easy way to create waves or curls and have already recommended it to a few people who have commented on my hair. Lee Stafford's CoCo LoCo range is simply fantastic and I'm definitely going to purchase some more of their hair products to go with this!

Fantastic hair curler, I have so many different curling items and non of them hold my hair in waves or curls for more than a few hours. My hair is half way down my back and very fine, I used CoCo LoCo on hair that was due to be washed and it was still very curly after 5 days, (I wanted to find out how long it would hold without being washed but I had to give in and wash it) I am in my late 70s and so wish this had been around earlier in my life.

It’s okay, nice and easy to use and you get more hair on it than on a straight barrel which just seems to slide down in my experience. I wish the styling lasted longer, for me the curls just didn’t hold all day, but after using it the hair does look very pretty so maybe with more hairspray it’d be better

The product is packaged nicely, and looks lovely out too. I have long hair and tried it but found it hard to style myself it wasn't good on me, but i tried it on my daughters thicker short hair and gave her a beach waves look was nice. Good product to use and looks nice.

I love it! I've been trying different hot rollers, brushes and curlers to try and style my hair with beachy waves and loose curls, and this is it! My hair is below my shoulders, blonde, very thick, frizzy and wild. It is also damaged from colouring it for years. As soon as it arrived, I plugged it in, let it heat up and had beautiful beachy waves in about 5 minutes! Spray on some Coco Loco heat protection spray, then take sections of hair and wrap around the wand. The barel gets hot so I have ordered a glove to keep my fingers from getting burned. Take smaller sections if your hair is longer like mine. If the curl or wave is not how you want it, take a smaller or a bit larger section and do it again until you are happy. It really is very easy and I had my beachy, bohemian hair in no time at all. I finished it with Coco Loco hairspray to set it and I am very happy with my look! My hair is soft and shiny with no frizz and I will be using this wand a lot!

After cutting my hair short I've had a really hard time styling my hair, but this is exactly what I've been looking for. I can either have soft curls or subtle waves and it does last a couple of days thank God because I hate styling my hair every day. I've had them for 3 weeks and they have taken a little bit of practice but they get easier to use each time. I will say be really careful not to burn yourself and I wouldn't even attempt to use them without a heat proof glove. A* from me! :)

Bought after watching AMR and was not disappointed. I’m absolutely rubbish at styling my hair, and I give up usually after 5 minutes of trying to curl my hair. This curler is sooo easy to use, and really does the job with such little effort. I admit to having no system when using it, but my hair still looks as I like it to look, which is “undone”. I think this is well worth a try.

A little tricky to use- a glove is a must and I found it difficult to get the hair wrapped evenly around the wand all the way to the end. Thinking I might just need more practise though. The overall effect was really good though and I'm pleased. Curls held well with some hairspray, Even had tousled waves left the next day, when usually curls almost immediately drop out of my heavy hair. Happy!
