Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-2S Humbucker Zebra Pickup Set with Slash Signature

Replaced the standard pick ups on an Epiphone Les Paul 97, as part of a complete re-wire and re-fret. Absolutely transformed the guitar - highly recommended to all GnR fans, or just those that like a bluesy, soulful rock sound. Brilliant pick ups.

Awesome bit of kit, fitted them to my vintage afd les Paul, they had the standard Wilkinson pick ups in which were ok but boy these are something else, highly recommended especially if your a slash fan obviously 🤘🎸

The first time I bought this Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-2S Slash Signature set, I went for a warehouse deal to save some money—but they turned out to be fake. So, I decided to buy them brand new at full price, thinking that would solve the issue. But guess what? I still got fake ones!If you're buying these, be extra careful. Here are some signs to look for to make sure you're getting the real deal:Engraving: The authentic pickups should have a clear, high-quality Seymour Duncan logo engraving on the baseplate. Fakes often have sloppy or faint etching.Wire Quality: Real Seymour Duncan pickups have high-quality braided shielding, while fakes might use cheap plastic insulation.Baseplate Details: Genuine APH-2S pickups have the Seymour Duncan logo and "APH-2" model number stamped cleanly on the baseplate. Fake ones might have incorrect fonts or missing details.

I bought these to replace the Seymour Duncan Vintage '59s in a mahogany bodied LP style guitar with a 3/4" maple cap, thru-body neck and ebony fretboard - a very bright guitar!The '59's were too bright with their Alnico 5 magnets, so I picked a pup set with Alnico 2 magnets (for less treble) and a little extra on the windings to improve the output.These have transformed the guitar tone and I can't recommend them highly enough - but remember; guitar tone is a very personal thing, otherwise we'd all be playing the same cloned guitar...

Put these into a Tokai Love Rock to replace the stock mk-2 which could be a little muddy but still had great tone.Not as big a change as expected but some subtle improvements - amazing clarity, really bright and much more bite. Plugged into a Marshall dsl5c - loads of snarl, a little feedback and definitely seem to get more sustain.

Some of, if not the best pickups i have ever played through. Easier than i thought they would be to install, unique and great tone, and to top of all of the zebra humbuckers in this configuration just look the part too. I would rate this the same, if not better than my burstbuckers on my LP.

EDIT: This was written when these were £88 for the pair - at current price of £200 i'd recommend getting a custom made set of bare knuckle pickups. (16/11/19)Cannot recommend these enough after spending countless hours of going through comparisons of gibson 57 humbuckers I chanced on these.for the sake of swapping out my washburn 621 & 623 pickups to these (which was extremely easily done, even on a hollowbody), the difference is night and day.

I'm very happy with these. I'm using them in a prs se and an orange micro terror. While I wouldn't say they will give you "that" slash tone, it's pretty close and they sound sweet. They are slightly hotter than the stock prs pick up and can be prone to a bit of buzz when using a lot of gain but overall a very nice upgrade for my guitar.

I bought this picks and installed them on a client's Epiphone a totally diferent guitar great tone, my client is really happy with the result

Questi pickup sono stratosferici, suonano proprio come Slash ma ci sono alcune premesse da fare. Nessuno amplificatore o testata + cassa vi faranno raggiungere il reale suono di Slash. Da anni cerco l'accoppiata perfetta ma non esiste a meno che non siate disposti a spendere cifre incredibilmente alte per acquistare la versione Marshall AFD100 Slash e una serie infinita di pedali per fare prove e controprove. Anche una testata JCM 800 moddata su specifiche della testata #34 fungerà, ma si può solamente noleggiare e nemmeno in Italia.Per fortuna l'impulse response di questo ampli è presente nel pacchetto Slash di Amplitube, questo è per ora il miglior suono che sia mai riuscito ad ottenere da questi pickup, fedele a quello di Slash al 95%. Sembra di suonare nell'album Appetite for Destruction.Quindi chiudo dicendo che questi pickup sono ciò che ci vuole per imitare Slash ma se non avere l'amplificazione adatta, il semplice cambio pickup non vi farà sembrare Slash.

De lo mejor de seymour, tengo otra guitarra con unas Seth Lover que para mi son las mejores pastilla de Seymour, pero estas estarían en segundo lugar, puro rock & roll, sonido potente y limpio. Las tengo puestas en una epiphone lo classic con toda la electrónica cambiada y el sonido es increíble. Por poner una pega... las veo un poco caras

Amazing pick ups, easy to install and really enjoy how they sound!

Amazing sound from these pickups. I seriously can’t put my guitar down. I put them in a ‘22 Les Paul Studio with RS Guitarworks pots and plugged it into my Jubilee. It’s Slash and so much more. It’s a very clear and cutting Les Paul tone. I rarely use effects because they just sound good on their own. Also work well for any hard rock sound. Alice In Chains, Van Halen, STP, Aerosmith…these pickups can cover them all.
