yes of course you can use it for might be to strong for scaffolding but you have 3 setting on the dewalt no 1 gives around 100 nm and no 2 gives you 400nm and no 3 gives u 950 nm on torque and taking nut off no 3 setting give 1650nm of breakaway tourqe it's a very powerfull dewalt gun the strongest on the market as I have used snap on guns Mac tool guns and the cheaper guns like roybi Bosch etc but by far dewalt is the best but maybe check out the dewalt dcf 880 which is smaller and more compact and lighter I think the dewalt dcf 880 might be more suitable for scaffolding as they will only use 15 mm nut which don't need tighting to much hope you make the right choice as the big dcf 899 can be a bit heavy bearing in mind someone going to be on scaffolding high up there

Question 3

This has a 1/2 bit holder but my 1/2 sockets wont go on do i need sockets with a larger  hole to fit this tool

The square drive pin dies take a half inch socket but it is very stiff. A stainless steel ring is used to retain the socket instead of a ball-bearing and spring. I guess this would not survive the torque that the tool can apply.   Placing a socket on a wood board on the ground allows you to apply more pressure to get it past the steel split ring
 Removal Ned's a flat screwdriver. Not ideal but it saves losing a socket in an awkward space and does not compromise the strength of the drive shaft.  Hope this helps.
