I've not only used this for lugnuts on my car many times now, but also to deal with the very tight crankshaft pulley bolt when changing my timing belt (cambelt) a year ago. For the latter I had to push on it so hard (to achieve the 90-degree turn after the initial 40Nm done with a torque wrench) that I had to sit on the ground and push it with my foot, and you could see it flexing quite a bit under the strain, but it did its job perfectly. I was very impressed having never used one like that before. Those reviews showing it having broken are either pushing it beyond the strength capabilities of 1/2" tooling or are just unfortunate enough to have gotten one that was imperfectly cast (a common manufacturing problem). A couple of notes for those choosing what tooling to buy: 1) I have seen people complain about their 3/8" breaker bar having broken when used on car lugnuts. That's because they're using the wrong tool, 3/8" isn't strong enough for car lugnuts (that have been tightened properly), they should be using a 1/2" tool like this one (and perhaps even stronger for larger vehicles). 2) If you're looking to do a timing belt replacement on a 1.0 ecoboost (without a torque multiplier) then the crankshaft pulley bolt needs to be done up exceptionally tight compared to most car engines (300Nm + 90-degree turn) and a 1/2" breaker bar may not be strong enough to cope with that. You can use a 1/2" torque wrench for the 300Nm bit, but then you should use a 3/4" breaker bar for the angle.

Bought this to assist with some very stubborn nuts & bolts on my old Land Rover. Did the job and survived my standing on the end of it to undo one! Far better than putting bits of pipe on the end of short bars. It appears pretty strong and should last for years if it's not mis-treated.

Ph, where do i start, i read the other reviews and saw the pictures and im not gonna lie, i was worried but this was the size and length i needed, fortunatelyit is also prety liegh weight. So i tried because it was cheap and i could've just returned it... well it came with a scratch on the black metal and a snapped plastic which didnt give much confidence considering the reviews but i did think i wouldn't be worried about the plastic wrapper if it wasnt for the reviews... well it worked, it did exactly what i needed it to do, i broke the rust lock on a siezed caliper pin which broke my heavy duty ratchet. Exactly what i paid for, there is some scratches on the black where i put the bits on... its paint, who cares, thats expected. Ive had no issues with it

Just what I needed to keep in the car makes life a lot easier when you need to change your wheels around or you get a flat tyre to crack the nuts off and a good price and length

Strong enough to break my 17mm socket! I have used this twice now to loosen wheel nuts after having my cars brakes serviced by a well known car servicing centre. I was unable to remove the wheel nuts and ended up bending my BMW wheel brace. I was unhappy to return to the service centre to get them to loosen the nuts as they said they had to torque them to factory settings - but tight enough to bend the wheel brace so I decided to purchase the Sealey 600mm 1/2 inch drive breaker bar. It worked a treat although I did break a Halfords 17mm deep socket in the process. I used a 17mm impact socket and tried again and it coped without any problem. It did deflect a little with me standing on one end (I weigh 14 stone) but no lasting damage. I would have been unable to complete my job without using a lot of heat to expand the nuts, something I was loath to do on expensive alloy wheels. It really did save the day and left me feeling a little smug that I had made such a wise choice in adding a quality tool to my tool kit. - And it was so cheap!

Aprés 2.5 ans d'utilisation extrême , alors qu'au début j'avais des doutes quand au jeu dans le carré 1/2 de la tête orientable , je constate que cette barre est extrêmement robuste et ne souffre d'aucun défaut , ni usure a ce jour . Tout en sachant que je monte dessus et fait du yoyo sur cette derniére pour désserer les écrous de moyeu etc , et que je fait 115 kgr sur des écrous serrés trés forts et rouillés ......

Brechstange ist sehr stabil und angenehm bei der benutzung, wenn man eine sache bemängeln würde ist das sie länger seien könnte, ist aber auch in der form ein must have für jeden hobby/ semi-professionnellen mechaniker.
