Mirror on a Stick
It's a mirror on a stick. With a light. The telescopic function works nicely, it seems sturdy enough, and was useful enough for me to see what I was doing inside the cramped engine bay of an old car.

Good tool, good reach, well made. Not quite perfect though.
Great tool, the two LEDs are white and bright, illuminate well. I've used it under the car and to view a leaking toilet cistern in a built-in cupboard where it was impossible to get a direct view, and too constricted to even get a camera phone around to view it that way.Good long pole when extended it's 770mm long to the hinge and the hinge to the top of the plastic mirror housing is 110mm (including the hinge). The plastic housing is 85 x 52 x 10mm thick and the mirror itself 65x41mm. It packs down to 335mm with the mirror folder onto the shaft.*The mirror is recessed so shouldn't scratch too easily. On off switch is small, but you can use it without having to resort to finger nails etc. It's not too proud that it will catch on things during use.Battery compartment has a screw. I don't mind this, but you'll want to be careful not to lose it when you change batteries as it's one of those teeny screws that are a pain to replace. You'll need jewellers screwdrivers too; standard screwdrivers won't fit and will damage the screw head.My only gripe is the articulation at the hinge. It kind of works, and is nice and stiff, but it's not a universal ball and socket joint. It is two one-degree-of-freedom hinges and then a very stiff swivel joint onto the plastic (which is probably the weakpoint where it will break if it's going to). You can tighten the clamp onto the two metal hinges to suit, but there is no way to service the socket into the plastic moulding. This system makes it difficult to manipulate the mirror angle during use. On the one hand it's stiff so stays in position, but if you need to insert it through a slot then try to bend it to a better viewing angle it's hard to achieve due to the different ways you need to apply force to each element. So 4*. Good quality, reasonably well made, does the job well, but that joint just annoys me enough to dock a star.(Also amazon, fyi the review page is asking me to score sheerness and thickness for a mirror tool? It's as far away from a pair of tights as you can get. How on earth do you get from mirrors to ladies tights? On second thoughts please don't answer that, maybe just update your software?)*Edit it packs down to approx 200mm with the mirror folded onto the shaft. nearer 300mm with mirror out

Works well
Works great. Contrary to other comments - the leds do not detract from vision if change angle slightly when using the mirror.Used most recently to check / paint chassis in L200 truck.Good quality mirror and size of mirror just right…..much better than the small round type.Telescopic arm works well and sturdy enough.

Great Tool. One slight issue
This is a great mirror on a (telescopic) stick. But I'd agree with other reviewers about the lights on the end of the mirror. While they are nicely bright they almost always seem to shine back into my eyes when I use the mirror so I can't actually see what I'm trying to view round the corner. So it's easier to use the mirror without switching on the built-in light and shine a torch/head-torch on it instead so I can see whats there. But it's cheap and works otherwise so no real complaint.

Check it's what you need for the job
Firstly, it's exactly as described, so no problem there. However, the mirror is not sufficient when using the telescopic extension at full length, as the mirror is too small for most inspections under a car. If you just want a quick glimpse of what's under there then it's fine but if you want to see something like the location of a bolt or screw, this won't do the job.

Good value and useful
We wanted an easy way to check if the mouse barrier installed around our house was still intact as we have had a few rodent visitors this winter. This telescopic inspection mirror was cheap enough to take a punt on and was better than expected. It allowed us to walk all round the house and check the gap between the cladding and the bricks for a mesh barrier. The mirror is easily angled and the additional two LED lights allow you to light up an area, if there isn’t enough natural light.Really handy and certainly proved it’s worth for us.
