Being only an amateur wine drinker I debated if I would be able to tell a difference using this decanter aerator. But I can definitely tell a difference. It takes the strong bitterness away and helps the wines taste. Easy, cheap and quick to use unlike the large glass decanters. No parts or filters to replace just rinse through after use

This gadget is like a magicians wand, adding extra value to a reasonably priced bottle of red. I think of it as getting you the taste of a more expensive wine simply by pouring through it's mysterious little whirlpool.

Through life certain interests can become obsessions and wine is no different. From buying correctly shaped glassware, keeping the wine correctly etc.Eventually, you get to a point of diminishing returns, and this is where I was on the subject of wine aerators.After reading and listening to much about them I decided to go for it, a small outlay wasn't going to break the bank .... And you never know!It's a simple and somewhat rudimentary product that it is nicely made and packaged well.We conducted a blind test with the same bottle of wine, open it, pour one glass without giving the wine chance to breath and the second glass poured through the aerator.I was astonished at the difference in taste between two glass from the same "just opened" wine. Once established there was even a slight colour difference between them.The aerated wine was smoother, had more flavour and had a much richer bouquet.For the small outlay in cost, it punches well above it's weight in terms of what it brings out in a well known (to me) bottle of wine.In short, well worth the asking price.

We have bought half a dozen of these so far, for ourselves and others. Using it, you can serve your wine straight from a newly opened bottle yet enjoy it as if you had let the wine "breathe" for 4 hours or so. The sharpness of the residual CO2 is removed by the clever aeration as you pour. The wine is instantly made smoother. We always use it and the ritual of pouring the wine through it with its satisfying "swooshing" sound adds to the experience! Works either to decant a whole bottle or simply by the glass. It is very easy to rinse clean afterwards. Hugely recommended.
