Def heavy duty I’ve just started puttting it through some serious paces today the body and handle area remains coo to the touch even with extended use minutes I cranked mine up to near 80% and sure it’s not the fastest but it saves buying loads of chemicals to strip paint that ends up in bin plus you can repair these brand of heat gun spares are more readily available compared to cheap generic knockoffs plus it has an adjustable temperature option which means you have more options use vs being stuck at one temperature plus 2 fan speeds it’s well vented for airflow has a unique stand that you fold out st case of handle you get 2 nozzles that fit on the nozzle endDef great value for a high end brandIs it the most powerful no but will it get the job done and remain usable without burning out well remains to be seen but so far it’s going strong

I am currently stripping the paint from the sofits around my house* and made the classic mistake of buying a cheaper product from Homebase. That product lasted a couple of hours before it broke. So I ordered this one. As you would expect, this product is robust and reliable. It produces plenty of heat and has been very effective. I have used it almost constantly for the last 5 days and it has not over heated or in any way been impaired. I've only used it on the maximum settings, so can't comment on the variable heat settings or the variable blower setting. I would however definitely recommend this product. It is not too heavy, which is important when you have to hold it above your head for a couple of hours. Note, however, that the nozzle supplied with it which looks like a scraper is NOT a scraper. You would need to hold this in one hand and use your scraper in the hand.* word to the wise ... if you are planning to do this, all I would say is that it's one of the worst and hardest DIY jobs I've ever done, so approach with caution and plan for it to take longer than you expect. This for me is primarily because you have to work above your head and applying pressure at that angle is difficult and exhausting.

The item was purchased to aid the removal of vinyl flooring and it more than did that job. It’s boxed at the moment for future DIY tasks such as stripping the paint from skirting boards.

No long ago we bought a 1930's property that needed complete modernisation inside and judging by the fixtures and fittings hadn't been decorated in 20 years. There were several doorways and cupboards in the hallway area (7 doors and 2 cupboards), as well as 2 small wooden window frames - all were caked decades of layers of paint.Combined with a couple of good sharp scrapers this Dewalt hot gun helped immensely in stripping back all the paint to the bare wood. The gun comes with a couple of different nozzles, I found the round and flat ones to both work well. I had the heat setting on max which was more than hot enough to help lift even the toughest areas of paint. It took probably about half a day per door frame (both sides).The Dewalt gun performed without any issue, the fold out stand on the back of the gun was a handy feature when I had to put the gun down to cool or when I needed a break. Sometimes I found the nozzles a bit difficult to swap over as they get stuck to the gun, twisting them back and forth helps release them a bit easier.Can't fault this product, well worth it for the price.

Fantastic product I use it for stripping paint and it is very effective.Nice and lightweight with a comfortable hand grip.Hopefully it will last a long time.

The dewalt heat guns are the best I have found, very durable and long lasting. I use mine all day 5 days a week for shrinking heat shrink on wires in an automotive application. I have tried many different heat guns that just don’t last but these really do. They stand up to the rigours or workshop life and far outlast anything else. I don’t have it at maximum, only around 70% temperature but works well at this setting. Highly recommended

The product don't specify the voltage or the type of plug that actually have!!!! They send me this from UK and the return take forever to complete, the information about the status is none

BEWARE: this heat gun is advertised for 240V use and comes hard wired with incorrect power points for a 120V (U.S supply). It should still operate however, 240V connections outside of the U.S. come with different types of power points. No adaptors are provided to change points to your countries connection. You will need to purchase an additional adaptor for yourself. Thanks for nothing DeWalt!
