does this pancake have holes?

No, the Trick Knife does not have holes. We could never figure out how to put water in it. There were no instructions on the package. The knife "blade" goes into the handle when you "stab" someone. After a minute or so, the boys lost interest and have never played with them (I bought two) again.

Is the handle plastic

The whole thing is plastic and brittle. I used it for filming a stabbing sequence in a music video and the damn thing broke on the first take

No, shiny and cheap looking. Makes a tolerable prop for low budget theater productions.
