Bodyprox Ankle Support Brace, Breathable Neoprene Sleeve, Adjustable Wrap!

I've had this support a few months and have worn it on and off when my ankle is causing me most pain. My ankle has internal scar tissue that impinges and causes swelling, particularly after after walking on uneven ground - even wearing walking boots. When it gets bad, sitting for long periods (for my job), causes swelling that exacerbates the pain. At the suggestion of a consultant I tried a number of supports, including lace-up ones, but the others I tried just made the pain worse when walking. This ankle support provides enough compression and a moderate amount of support which does seem to help keep the swelling down. It's comfortable enough to wear for long periods and not so bulky that it can't be worn inside boots or shoes. It's got no rigid lateral inserts, so is not going to prevent ankle inversion, but it's not claiming to be that type of support. For that, something like an Aircast A60 or Thuasne Malleo Dynastab (neither of which I've tried) would be more suitable). As for longevity, at some point it will need replacing, but that's just the nature of the contruction - there's only so much wear that stitched fabric tensioned by elastic straps can take. It seems to be well made with reasonable materials, and at this price point offers good value for money. You could easily pay the same (around £10) for a slip-on neoprene support with no adjustment. Everyone's ankle (and injury) is different so what suits me might not suit you, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with this.

Sprained ankle (torn ligaments) 2 weeks prior to purchase and walking was a massive problem still. Decided to get an ankle support brace and took a punt on Bodyprox, as I had used their products successfully before. It was a game changer, reduced pain and increased mobility immediately. Also adjustable, to suit the various stages of recovery.

It did a basic job but would not be sufficiently supportive for a serious ankle ligament strain. The strap was however comfortable to wear and easy to apply.

Fantastic product... I couldn't be happier. Bought this support after spraining my ankle pretty badly. After one week rest, I returned to work as a gardener (walking 8 hours per day on uneven surfaces etc). First time I wore it, I thought 'my ankle has healed really well but I'm not sure if the support is doing anything'. Next day, I didn't bother with the support and holy heck did I struggle! I had to head home and get it. Makes a MASSIVE difference. I'm UK size 12 and it fits me well. My tip, wear the support over your socks.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Ordered this as I went over on my ankle. This support was easy to wear and rather comfortable. It gave correct pressure ro my ankle to support with the swelling. I was able to put more pressure on my foot too! Definitely recommend.

Soft, elastic, but provide good support for the ankle joint. Easy to use. Comfortable fasteners. Can be adjusted to fit your foot and adapted to your injuries.

Easy to use and good support.

This is my favorite daily wear brace for my hEDS. 10/10 Over the years I have tried many different styles of braces, and none work for me as well as these. I do one modification to make it perfect for me, and that is to take a seam ripper ad remove the reinforcement stitched ring around the heel, as with it on it digs into my foot and I can't wear it for long. But if I remove that part I can use it for a daily general brace. They clean really easily, are lightweight, and I can even sleep with them on when needed. Obviously they work well over socks, however they are the easiest on the skin out of any style or brand. Many can only work over socks or else they'll dig in and gave abrasions, these don't do that at all. Just make sure you get several pairs so you can clean them daily and you'll be set.
