WACACO Minipresso GR, Portable Espresso Machine, Compatible Ground Coffee, Small Travel Coffee Maker, Manually Operated from Piston Action

I bought this about a month ago and wanted to wait to write a review until I'd used it for a while. I was slightly nervous of buying it because of the price, but I have to say that I'm really impressed. I work in an office in central London where all the surrounding chain cafes turn out so-so espresso for between £1.50-2.00/shot, and was fed up of that. This really has solved that issue and pretty soon I'll break even on the investment of buying it vs the cost of buying coffees out all the time. It's a really, really small and nifty device, extremely quick and easy to use and clean, and crucially - makes very good espresso, easily as good if not better than the espresso sold in many cafes. Yes, it takes a few days to get used to, and without question it won't suit everyone; it is a (bit) messy and requires careful cleaning to get the best from it, and if you're looking for espresso right up there like that from a proper machine, sure you'll be disappointed - but this is basically a 20cm long bike pump that makes coffee, so give it a break! All I can say is that it works well for me and really is quick and easy to use, allows you to select your own coffee type of choice, and so to my mind is well worth it. I now use it at least daily, if not twice a day, during the working week, and envisage my taking it on holiday too: I could imagine anyone who regularly goes camping, etc. finding it especially useful.

... after trying the Staresso and the Handpresso. This is the one for me. Easy to use and clean, it makes a solid espresso shot and is the perfect partner for my Aeropress. What impressed me from the beginning is the build quality and how tactile the Minipresso is. Don't be mislead by the plastic material. This plastic is a sturdy one and it surely can take a hit (if it happens). When the device is cold, you could even think that parts of it are metal just by the way it feels. Even though it is marketed with a priority on outdoor use, for me, living in a small bedsit, it is my go to espresso maker. And I couldn't ask for more! It simply is ingenious! I like my little espresso making ceremony. I am always rewarded with a lovely espresso shot, or two. I had it for a while now and I am still experimenting with the grind (if I use coffee beans and my Hario grinder) and the water temperature. So far, however, the best espresso with A LOT of crema was produced using the Lavazza Crema Gusto ground coffee. Initially I only wanted to stick to coffee beans and grind my own, but I have to say the Lavazza changed my mind. So it will be the coffee beans and grinding for the Aeropress and ground coffee for the Minipresso. I can't wait to see how the company extends their product portfolio and of they will be able to improve an already great little machine. I like to call it the bullet, btw., because of it's shape. :-)

Love this expresso pump! Lightweight, comes with its handy travel bag which takes up hardly any space. Took a bit to learn how to use it but now I can make a delicious 'proper' coffee in pretty much the same time as someone would make an instant one.

Actually makes a very smooth espresso! I use mine for the office as our coffee is really bad i.e. instant kenko etc. very impressed with it, very compact and the coffee flavour is excellent. Only downsides are that it can be a little bit messy, and if you're using 'instant boiling water' i.e. like they have in office taps, the espresso doesn't come out as hot as you'd like.

Initially we were very pleased with this product, but having only used it for 2 months and only at weekends, my partner advised that it had started to slightly leak water at the seal whilst pumping out the coffee and then it subsequently completely burst open scalding his hand with boiling water. I have looked to return it but last day available to do this was the 1st of August having only received it on the 2nd of July. I will attempt to contact the sellers and inform them that in our opinion the product is dangerous

I'm not sure how long it will last, but for now, I'm very happy with it. It's extremely straightforward to use - no unnecessary steps or extra accessories that make the process time-consuming. And the coffee it produces is excellent. I've tried all the popular home coffee-making alternatives on the market, and this is by far the fastest method with the best results (even though I know it's sold as a portable solution). Very happy overall. If it proves durable, it will definitely be a 5/5 stars product.

Look no further. Perfection, Better than picopresso, I think currently the best quality portable espresso maker available, quality is on par with my at home manual one 👌

I bought this product on the recommendation of a friend and while it works, it can be intermittent. When I go to do a second shot of coffee, this is when I have problems. If I am making coffee for 2 people, I find that assembly on the second shot isn't so easy. After emptying, washing, drying, refilling and placing the grind container into the middle section, I find it difficult to screw the outlet section on to the middle section. For some reason it doesn't want to line up and coffee grinds end up in the coffee that comes out. This is without overfilling the basket. Once the outlet section is screwed on securely, the middle section (with the pump) starts to leak from the pump area and squirts hot water everywhere. Sometimes it'll leak from the water tank section or even the outlet section. When this happens I have to rescrew thse sections back on. I've noticed it's done this for a few months now and I received this in Nov 2018. I usually have 1 coffee a day but on the days I make coffee for 2 people, it doesn't work so well and actually makes a bad coffee too. Each time I've finished making my coffee, I make sure I give the device a run through with no grinds and just hot water, to ensure no coffee water is left in the device. I dismantle it, pump out any excess water in the middle section, vigorously shake the outlet section free of water and leave it dismantled to dry off until next use. But this routine doesn't work when making coffee for 2 people or when making 2 coffees close together. It's quite disappointing as I really like this device and it does produce a good coffee. The first shot is delicious, but unfortunately isn't consistent with a second coffee:(

I want give it more than 5 stars. It an amazing espresso maker, fully manual but perfectly usable. Solved the problem of traveling and not having a good coffee. Now you can just keep your grounded coffee with you and make espresso anytime you want. It's also good for daily usage I am usi g it on daily basis in my office not sure about the durability but the material looks sturdy.

It’s a wonderful machine. For someone who loves coffee it’s a must have. You can bring it with you when you go to a hotel as well, usually they have this awful coffee in the rooms. So not only for outdoors and works pretty easily.

Hallo zusammen. Die tragbare Espressomaschine von WACACO ist mit Abstand das coolste, was ich mir im Bereich Kaffe/Espresso bisher zugelegt habe. Neben einer French-Press und einem Bialetti Moka Express ergänzt die kleine Espresso-To-Go Handpumpe mein kleines Sortiment. Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich sehr gut. Das ganze Gerät wirkt hochwertig und edel. Man kann das gesamte Zubehör in und an dem Gerät verstauen und mit einem kleinen Beutel umpacken. Mit dem beiliegendem Messlöffel lässt sich die perfekte Menge an Pulver abmessen. Anschließend setzt man den Sieb verkehrtherum auf den Messlöffel und dreht das ganze um. Der Inhalt fällt also in den Siebbehälter und kann dann mit der Unterseite des Messlöffels perfekt angedrückt werden. Nun setzt man den Sieb in die vorgesehene Fläche dafür ein und schraubt den Kopf auf das Gerät. Anschließend kommt kochendes Wasser in den Wasserbehälter (mit Mengenmakierung) und dieser wird ebenfalls fest zugedreht.(AUFGEPASST!! - hier habe ich bei der ersten Benutzung einen Fehler gemacht und den Behälter nicht bis zum Anschlag verschraubt! Dann ist mir beim umdrehen und pumpen das kochende Wasser über die Hand gelaufen. Unangenehm - aber mein Fehler.) Wenn man dann alles verschraubt hat wird das ganze Gerät ungedreht und die Pumpe durch leichtes drehen herausgedrückt. Nun einmal das ganze Gerät umdrehen und die kleine Öffnung über dem Deckel des Gerätes, welcher als Becher dient, halten und loslegen mit dem pumpen. Nach etwa 5-7 mal drücken kommt dann der Espresso heraus. Super schön cremig und schaumig. Intensiver Geschmack und meiner Meinung nach die perfekte Temperatur zum trinken. Ich hasse es wenn die Getränke gottlos heiß sind und man sich den Mund verbrennt. Es ist logisch das während dem Pumpvorgang und der kleinen Menge die bei jedem Pumpstoß herauskommt, der Espresso etwas abkühlt. Da einige Rezensionen der Meinung sind der Inhalt wäre ja kalt und nicht zu genießen.. das sehe ich nicht so. Perfekte Temperatur zum genießen. Ich nutze das Gerät jetzt schon knapp 6 Monate und alles funktioniert wie am ersten Tag. Ich bin vollends zufrieden und würde mir das Gerät immer wieder kaufen. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung und der Preis ist ebenfalls unschlagbar. Man kriegt hier für wenig Geld eine sehr gute und langlebige Verarbeitung und einen super leckeren Espresso!
