If you don't use the deodorant the floor is clean but can smell musky for a while. The deodorant makes floor and room smell better and cleans the floor better. Well worth using and the deodorant one fill last for two fills of the water reservoir. We like the lemon smell but the other scents are almost just as good, just a matter of taste. The VAX steamer is very good and quick to use.

I'd been using a non branded solution in my steam mop and it started to leave my laminate floors very slippery so I ordered this one and on first application the floors are all back to normal. I will now only use this as it does smell nice too and doesn't leave any stickiness or residue on the floors, actually felt clean to touch and look at.

July 2024 - £12.45 for 1 litre ... shame it doesn't use petrol instead ... Well, when you've spent so much on the machine, better to get the manufacturer's own solution ... if you need that warranty claim, they might just find some residue of some cheaper universal cleaning solution in there and leave you to steam yourself - even if it is genuinely a manufacturer fault. They all love a good get-out clause, probably why they charge so much for the detergent. I bought the VAX Steam Fresh Total Home Steam Cleaner direct from Vax as they were the only ones who had stock of the fully tooled-up version at the time, that's around £160 now ??? In for a penny, in for a pound. In for £100+, in for £10+. To be fair, I'll use it for one round of detergent cleaning and the rest will be plain water, the main reason I chose the Vax was because it had the option to add detergent, other steam cleaners are water only and in some cases, you really do need need both. Stars for the extra cleaning power, definitely not for the price, that is robbery, and knocks stars off! PS. Have found it a lot cheaper elsewhere since then - best to shop around ;)

This was a replacement detergent for my Vax steam cleaner, as recommended by the manufacturer. It is a fairly thin detergent liquid, presumably so there is no danger of clogging the machines nozzle. You put in a small amount, then add some water, so a little goes quite a long way, and the full container lasts me quite a long time with a modest amount of floor cleaning every couple of weeks.It claims to be antibacterial, but not sure quite how much better it is than just the basic steam function, but it does leave a nice but not overpowering lemon smell which soon fades. This product at full price does seem prohibitively expensive for what it does, I picked it up for half price, which seemed more reasonable . It does the job, does not leave any streaks or residues ,and is compatible with the Vax Steam Cleaner I have not seen this available in any local shops, so had to order via the internet, but by lumping it together with other items for free delivery, it then comes out more reasonable value for money.

Love my Vax steam cleaner & love this dedicated cleaner, which does a good job & leaves a lovely ‘just cleaned’ smell.

Très bien pour balais vapeur avec réservoir pour détergent. Ne mousse pas. Odeur très légère voir peut-être même trop pour le coup!
