tDCS works!
I was going to build my own tDCS device, but fitting an ammeter screen and making the device portable looked a time consuming task. After looking around I decided that the neurozapper was probably the best option, and am I glad I settled on it! The screen is a crucial aspect for any tDCS device; who wouldn't want to know what current is running through your skull and into your brain? The resistance across your body is never constant, being able to look at the ammeter and adjust accordingly is an essential feature and one I appreciate very much. The electrodes are decent and they haven't lost much of their stickiness after a fair bit of usage, I figure they will last anyone from 7+ days, depending on how often its used and how much you take care of them (don't leave them exposed to the elements when not using). Replacements are cheap, but I guess if you need the cash you could try using damp sponges. As for longevity and what not, I can't comment much. However, The device seems well built. It will probably outlast the 1 year warranty. Does it work? For me yes! I use this to study and the effects are profound. I have just completed a 2 hour session and I can't recall being distracted or my focus drifting once, it really does increase productivity and helps free up time to do other things too: that 2 hour session would have usually taken me 3 hours to get through! It seems the effects are residual in nature, so extended daily use shouldn't be necessary. I haven't used it for use outside of academia as of yet, but perhaps I will use it for its intended purpose (intended marketing purpose anyway). I also plan on trying a sleep configuration at some point. I will update on these at request. All in all, up to now, it's worth it!

Excellent, just the little things...
The picture doesn't correspond to the device, as the buttons are located in different places. However, it does work to the amperage it described, however the dial only starts to change amperage enough when turns to near maximum according to the diagram - therefore it is hard to regulate the current unless you're accurate with your movements when turning the dial - but the ammeter reading does compensate that and makes it easier. But it does work, however you need to have two alkaline 12V and two 9V batteries in order for it to function, which was not the three batteries the seller described. Also, in my opinion. this looks to be a hand crafted device which is impressive, so thumbs up from me for the effort on this masterpiece, not to mention that this beauty works much better than CES and Brainwave Entrainment indefinitely. - Update - I will post results about this device later (when I have used it enough), but so far it seems to work without problems, especially in stimulating areas that have been 'dormant' (in my case the dosolateral front cortex for working memory and prefrontal cortex for congition) based on my personal experience. So far I have no regret of buying this device since it is affordable, cheap and versatile (since you can stimulate desired regions and do it as long as you want, whenever you want and with whatever current you choose). I do advise buying some liquid electrode gel for stimulating the regions in 10/20 system (where the hair is), in order to make contact between the electrode and your head and in order to have less resistance between the electrode and the cranium. Also I would advise to remove the adhesive gel from the second pair of electrodes (you get two), in order to apply gel directly to the conducting surface of the electrode.

Three Stars
Mechanism seems to function just fine. Unfortunately the sponge "electrodes" are just useless.

as I always handle with good care.
The device was quite consistent and I was starting to notice some effects, either placebo or real. But within 2 months the device broke. So I'm guess it is very fragile, as I always handle with good care.

Dont buy!
Complete garbage!!!!!

Works well. Good investment
Very happy after some experiments. I first bought a unit from foc.us that didn't work and wasn't replaced. Then I found this unit. Research how others are using them. I keep the milli amps low, .8 - 1.5 milli amps for 20 minutes, as higher was causing headaches. It is good for stimulation and focus. Nobody knows the long term effects yet, although the military have been using them for at least a decade. I only use the gel pads which were in the box and have replaced them with Tens replacement pads from the chemist. A good solid unit. Does what it says. Accurate read out. I find it very effective for lifting brain fog. How you use it matters. Do some research first.

used it a few times and then yesterday the reading on the counter went funny. This means batteries need changing
Device arrived on time, however not too sure if it works well. I placed two new 9v batteries in the unit, used it a few times and then yesterday the reading on the counter went funny. This means batteries need changing!!! and so soon. Ill give it another week, lets see how it goes.

Better than expected!!
I think as a low budget tDCS, this is a fantastic option, as it comes with loads of spare parts, electrodes and extra leads. I have used it for a couple of weeks now, and It’s a simple device and very solid, strong case with a big screen meter, it works with two 9 volts batteries that you need to remove a back lead to install, the batteries seem to last for a long time as I haven’t changed them yet, It doesn’t seemed to be a cheap Chinese mass produced product. I have tried another tDCS from another big company which looked more like a toy from China, and I can say that the Neurozapper is a better device, more powerful and the current readings seemed to be more accurate than the previews tDCS device I have used. If you are looking for a super fancy device, this maybe not the unit for you, but again, tDCS is about experimenting and stimulating you brain with some electricity, I’d rather have a device that always gives me a very accurate information and that I can monitor well during the exercise and that is strong and simple. So far, I am very happy with this device, if you are looking for a simple, solid and accurate tDCS, this is for you!
