Believe the reviews
I already had a Ryobi 18V cordless drill/driver, so saw this set as being a bit of an extravagant purchase. I was about to build a pergola and decking area (about 20 square metres of it) though so thought it would be useful to have an impact driver as well. Given the cost of a single decent quality impact driver elsewhere, this set from Makita looked like a bargain, especially given the fantastic reviews here on Amazon.300 pilot holes drilled and decking screws screwed later, I'm extremely happy with both drill and impact driver. On first sight the tools look a bit flimsy if anything. Very light and compact in their shiny metal case, and the white detailing on the handles isn't exactly 'manly'. Handling them though you can immediately feel the quality. Any worries about their fitness for purpose disappear the first time they're used. As mentioned elsewhere, the battery life is excellent and the recharge time pretty quick. I think the only thing I might have done differently is perhaps bought a kit with an extra battery. I'm guessing though that in future my need to use both tools together as heavily as on this project is unlikely. When the impact driver has run out of charge on this project I've swapped the battery for that of the drill/driver and used my old Ryobi (One Plus) for drilling the pilot holes. When you've been using the Ryobi for a while you begin to really value just how light the Makitas are. I can imagine that it must be perfect for doing overhead work. All in all, I'm very impressed with my purchase and can see them being extremely valuable additions to my tool kit.

Brilliant!
Great piece of kit. I bought these for when I'm plaster boarding ceilings as they are very lightweight and fit in the leg pocket of my work trousers. Plenty of power for this job. Never had an impact driver before and can't believe its taken me so long to get one! They're so useful. Gets into tight spots - kitchen cabinets etc- and tons of power for such a small thing. Battery lasts a long time and screwing chipboard floors down now only takes half the time it did with my old 18V battery drill. No more faffing about with torque settings. Nice compact box means they take up less room in my van too. You'd still need a bigger drill for bigger fixings that require lots of power, like 6.0mm x 100mm screws for example - but that's to be expected. Impact driver is quite noisy but that doesn't really bother me. For me Makita are the best tools you can get, and they're not over-priced like DeWalt and Milwaukee and the like.

2 great little compacts.
Recieved undamaged and very well boxed/packaged. I charged both batteries as soon as I received them even though they did have some charge in them I was intending to use them the next day. As mentioned I used thes to help build a motorbike shelter in my garden and intended using 4" screws and 2" screws to give the framework good sturdy joints. These were absolutly fantastic little helpers! Being a very handy DIY'er I'm used to buying many different types of tools and I must say these are defenatly going to be used a hell of a lot. They coped with the work with reasonable ease, having drilling a pilot holes first, the drill cut through the wood easily then impact drove the 4" nails in with a good tight tention. And screwing pilot holes first in the plastic corrugated roofing sheets then using the drill on the 5th settings it crasped the sheet without cracking a single one..Perfect. I stopped work after a couple of hours and recharged both batteries and and again a couple of hours later and they lasted until the job was done. I would say I used them approx 20/30 minutes each time so for a 10.8v battery they are not only very powerful but also last a good time. Very light compared to other battery drills/compacts, they were a pleasure to work with.

Good for small jobs
A pair of very nice and well-made tools. The screwdriver has a ratchet action that grips the screws better than my previous tools. I really like this tool. Both tools are small and light and feel well balanced and good to hold. The storage box was original designed for something else but this isn't worth griping about. Both tools also have a LED light reducing the need for a torch when working in a confined space. Ideally I would like a third battery but the genuine article is 40 quid which I consider a rip-off. Two batteries will usually suffice as they are interchangeable and charge very quickly.Very pleased with this purchase but one word of warning - these are small tools. While the screwdriver will cope with most domestic jobs the drill is only suitable for use with small drill bits. It's very good for small holes in timber and plastic but if you need to fix to masonry you will need a larger 18Volt drill at least and ideally also a heavy 24/36V drill if you have a large project on your hands e.g. a complete house renovation. Hope this helps.

If you need a new battery drill or driver, buy this pair without a doubt!
so far i havent used them much, but when I have used them this drill and driver are amazing. They are a great little pair!Originally I was only looking for a driver, but for the price of a driver only (around £100) I decided I may as well go the extra £33 and get the drill chucked in too!Drill doesnt have hammer action (I knew this, but just in case you arent sure - it doesnt). Some people have complained about the build quality of the case, this doesnt really matter to me - the drill and driver are important, not the box! But I do agree, the box doesnt look the strongest in the world. The drills are a great weight, well designed, easy and quick to use, they will speed up my work no end. This is the best price I could find online too. Ebay sellers will sell at a similar price but I feel more secure using amazon vs ebay.Screwfix also sells at a competitive price, but finding what you want in stock is impossible..If you need a new battery drill or driver, buy this pair without a doubt!

Prodotto solido, dall'aspetto professionale.
