Omron M10-IT Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor with Dual User Facility with Dual Size Cuff

I spent quite a bit of time trying to determine which blood pressure monitor to purchase. There are a myriad of devices out there that suit every single pocket but it is very hard to find suitable buying guides. In the end I found that the best two products in this price range on the market appear to be the Omron 10 series or the Microlife. I chose the Omron because they are a better known brand and I have used their products before. Many GP's recommend this particular brand too so it seemed to be the right choice. There are a myriad of professional studies out there comparing the two and most seem to suggest that they are both good at what they do. I chose this over the Omron elite model for two reasons. The 10 series appear to be a more reliable model, plus the batteries are AA and not AAA which means you won't be forever changing them.Upon first use you are prompted to enter the date, time and year. You also can select whether you want a single test or a triple test. The latter effectively meaning the unit will run three tests in succession with a user set time gap in between. I opted for 15 seconds, but you can have a larger gap of time should you wish. From memory I believe it goes up in 15 second gaps up to a minute or so. You also have a sliding bar on the right hand side to select between user A and user B. This is handy for couples but I guess if you have a larger family then you will have to use the guest mode for any more than 2 people. The benefit of having two user modes are that you can keep a track of the last 88 tests performed, handy if you suffer from Hypertension/Hypotension and need to keep a track of your progress. It is also handy to be able to provide your doctor with your results with the provided USB cable and software.To use the device, you simply put the arm band on your left arm, get in a seated position, then press start. It is important here to relax and not move as it can affect the results. Do not try to do this test in a laying position and your pressure will be different. Depending on what mode you have selected previously when setting up, the machine will run a single or a triple test. Your results are displayed on screen in a large easy to read screen. You can hit the memory button on the bottom to cycle through your previous readings to check on your progress. It lists the date and time of each test you have performed which is very useful. It is so very easy to use and once you have set it up you pretty much don't have to worry about how to use it, just one button and go.The arm band is much better than the older omron units. It is cushioned to a degree and feels very hard, like it has a formed insert inside that keeps its shape. The fit will suit most people as well. It's as comfortable as you get although you will never find a blood pressure monitor that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable as the test is performed.The device comes with batteries which is always a nice touch and the whole lot is packaged up in a handy zip case.

I bought this as my family - certainly on the male side - tend towards early heart problems and I wanted to keep an eye on things. On top of that I have to have an offshore medical every two years and like most, suffer from 'White Coat Syndrome' giving me elevated blood pressure results.My wife suggested that I get a monitor and get used to using it. That way hopefully I can keep an eye on my health as far as one can, and reduce the hypertension that I suffer when the doctor straps on the cuff.So is it any good? Well I chose this one because the last two medicals I had in two different surgeries had a similar Omron one. In fact one was lower down the range, so I figured that if I get one that is used by a doctor then it's probably fairly good.Use is simple and as far as I can see idiot proof. If you don't put it on correctly it will come up with an error message when it pumps up. However it's is genuinely easy to use by yourself because there is a blue line for lining up on the arm and the cuff is semi-rigid so you can put it on with one hand. In other words you don't need a third party helper that may not be available at the time.It has a memory and it comes with a program that you install on your PC to monitor the results that you can download via USB. All simple and easy.The internal memory will remember 85 results and you can choose A or B person. That way you and your partner can record results without getting mixed up. The nice thing about the A or B choice is that it is not a multi choice menu item either - you simple slide a switch on the right hand side.Build quality it top notch. I assume that as doctors surgeries use this machine it must get a fair bit of use without failing, so it's unlikely to fall over in normal household use.Accuracy seems to follow how I feel. If I'm stressed a bit and I know my blood pressure is up, the machine bears this out and visa verso. The screen is large and easy to read and gives you all you need to know for general health checking.Overall if you are like me well into middle age then I suggest this would make a good addition as it may just help you out.

This was my first unit. I am exceptionally pleased with price, purchase process and product itself.I ordered online by credit card and seemingly within hours my product was delivered. Before purchase I had done EXTENSIVE online research to determine various units, options available and what options I actually needed. I needed dual users, memory, print capability, battery with mains capability (I ordered the adapter separately)and ability to take both pressure and pulse readings. I received this and more on the base unit with large easy to read displays that also provide general/warning indicators. The software provides excellent management of historical data allowing print or storage in multiple formats. I just printed information to take to the doctor with text and graphic display of the readings. With possibility of "whitecoat syndrome" these accurate and reliable home readings are vital for proper assessments. The additional user allows guest readings and is another bonus.Customer reviews had mentioned issues with mobility and cuff size. Unit size is no problem cuff size is a slight problem for my spouse, but not as I had imagined. Length is a problem because of her shorter upper arm length I think she experiences this with every unit - circumference around the arm is perfect for both of us.By my nature I read the manual before I touched the unit - I had it for about a week. I was totally familiar with the unit when I started taking readings and have had no problems. If I encounter any I feel confident with the manual, warranty and service contacts. Again this is my first unit so I have no comparisons, but at this point I am happy and recommend both the provider and product.Benjamin H. Johnson III

Basically this takes ones blood pressure using the upper arm strap method and as well as showing the result on screen it also records electronically for later download via a computer.It's a 5" (12cm) x 6" (15cm) white plastic box with a 3" (7.5cm) x 3 3/4 (9cm)" screen with gives a black on grey readout in nice, easy to read, numerics.Can be used to record the readings for two people, A and B but you have to remember to alter the slide for A or B before you start to take the reading for that person. Large On/Off button on front as well as a small `set' button which is used for setting the date and time etc., also on the front are two large Memory buttons marked with a sun and a moon respectively. These are used so you can check up on your readings over a period of time either AM or PM.There is also the upper arm cuff which is clearly marked so you should have no problems in putting in on to the correct location. This is connected to the actual monitor by a short length of rubber tube, approx. 2' (61cm) long. Once in place switch on the monitor and the thing goes to work. I find the whole things takes about 2 mins - beware the cuff gets `doctors surgery' tight! The result shows on screen as is automatically recorded in 84 measure chunks, if you are lucky. Basically up to 84 readings are saved then the oldest is over written and so on. I had to send my first one back because it gave up recording data (it showed on screen) after 5 days use. I need a couple of more days to check the new one out.If you wish you can connect the monitor to a computer and download the data, either in CSV for PDF format. The PDF data is just the usual three measures but the CSV - which can be imported to most spreadsheets - contains other readings such as irregular heartbeat (great if you are a hypercondriac!). This process is fairly straightforward as Omron supply the software so once you have this on your machine (Windows only, no Mac available that I could find) then is just a matter of connecting the supplied USB cable to both monitor and PC and then starting the software.Over the past month I've compared the readings from this machine with a wrist Omron Intelli sense out of curiosity. In ever case the BP readings from the M10-IT are at least 10/15 points higher than the wrist monitor - speaking to my doctor this is to be expected :-)Downsides; it's a fair size and although supplied with a zipped bag which takes both the monitor and cuff it will take a fair amount of space in hand luggage if that's required. The biggest issue for me though is that there does not appear to be anyway to check that the machine has actually electronically recorded the readings without connecting to a PC. This quickly becomes a major pain, but after the recording problems I had with the first monitor I strongly suggest one needs to go through at least for the first couple of weeks. Or, you'll face what happened to me which was trying to get a print out for a doctors trip only to find that of the three readings a day I'd taken for the past two weeks said machine had only bothered to record the readings for the first week. You have been warned.UPDATE : MAY 2013Machine still working fine (touch wood) however, for the last three months or so actually getting the arm band on tightly enough so that one gets a reading has become difficult. In other words it's loosened up and trying to get the required tightness one handed is almost impossible, need help of 2nd person which is not good. Readings seem accurate though once it can be got to work.UPDATE : JUNE 2015Machine still working fine, except, it can take 5 or 6 tries to get it to work. Constant fitting and re-fitting is a pain and turns what should take a few moments into a frustrating experience. Not good in itself for the blood pressure :-) The problem is the cuff, unless it's just so, and what exactly is just so I still have to discover, then it starts to pressures up then stops so you re position and re tighten the cuff. Usually at least 4 times before it works but, I have had as many as 8 tries before it would work.

Everything required is supplied in the box, including good quality batteries, a black woven-material soft zip storage-case and a mini-USB lead (for PC connection).Blood Pressure Monitor UnitThe front has an excellent high contrast (easy reading) LCD that shows all pressure and heart beat results on the single screen (no scrolling or button pressing to get at the information).To operate the unit is simplicity itself: choose person A or person B (slide switch on front) for selecting the data store. Press the O/I (on/off) button and just let it run. You, of course, need to have placed the cuff on your upper arm first! The cuff is pre-shaped to loosely fit the arm, making it much easier to fit single-handedly, and is very comfortable. The cuff accommodates all normal adult arm sizes, so there is no need for an extra large cuff for those of us with super biceps!I've noticed comments in some reviews about the discomfort when pressure is applied. This comes with the territory and is not the fault of the equipment, as it has to provide slightly more pressure than your blood pressure in order to measure the systolic level. Typically this will be 30 to 40 (mmHg) more than the systolic pressure - hence the discomfort - but it is only for a brief period.You can also choose a guest by pressing the O/I button for a couple of seconds or so, in which case data is not stored (this is good for practising and for occasional use by others) .The manual is rather thick, but that's because it carries a whole pile of different languages. The manual is best read like a novel (from front to back, which only takes 5 minutes). Follow the instructions to set the unit up, which is required if you want the correct time and date on the stored data (essential for correct data recording when used with the supplied software). The manual is clearly written in real English with good diagrams.All in all, an excellent and very easy to use BPM. Definitely 5 stars.Computer InterfaceBut, the major reason for me choosing this model, above many others, was its ability to store the measurements and then upload them to a PC when convenient. This makes keeping accurate records really easy. The supplied software V1.60 (also available as a download, as are the manuals) is stated as not being compatible with Windows 8. All I can say is that I'm running Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and it works fine, The software allows the BPM data to be uploaded and stored on the PC. The software also produces "csv" files (compatible with spreadsheets, eg Excel) and pdf files. The latter can be printed and shown to your doctor (or anyone else you wish to impress). The software is slightly "clunky", but so far it has behaved itself flawlessly.One example of "clunky" operation is that if you add any carriage returns in the comments field, these will mess up the layout of the spreadsheet file. Don't forget to "save" if you've made any changes before closing the comments window (labelled List), otherwise they are lost. Another example is that it will not remember your preferred folder for saving csv and pdf files, it always defaults to its own pre-defined folder, which makes it a bit tedious when saving anything. The software, if reviewed on its own, would get 4 stars.All in all the Omron M10-IT is an excellent buy at £42. Highly recommended to both non-techies (luddites) and techies.Things I haven't covered in this review are reliability and battery life - only time will tell.

I bought this item after long research online. Item arrived within 36 hours. I am a big 150kg man so was wondering if the cuff will fit my hand. But when I got the item I realized cuff would fit even probably double size man with huge biceps. The cuff fits my wife's hand as well, although she is small and her weight is only 50kg. And we don't need to swap cuffs every time we take measurements as the same cuff designed to fit both - small and big sizes. It will definitely fit even a 5 years old child. This monitor measures very quick compared to my previous monitors and it takes around 20 seconds from the start pumping the air to the end when readings are ready. It also shows you when your heart beat is irregular. There is also very handy thing user selection. I am user A and she is user B. I wanted to take three measurements per two minutes and see the average and she is taking just one measurement so I programmed user A to take three measurements and give the average readings and user B I left on default settings. So each time when we use the monitor just have to switch the switcher to position A or position B and it knows how to take readings. Then I can connect it to my computer (before you have install a program from cd which came in the box)and to see all readings, print them to show your GP, compare them, see how you get on say in the mornings compared to evenings and much much more. So in totally I am happy with this monitor and will recommend to everyone as it is accurate, user friendly and affordable monitor.

This is a clinically accurate device - compared to results a surgery there is no difference - readings can/will be higher/lower because blood pressure does vary and this is to be expected.This is a feature rich version of the M6. Allows PC upload of data and has the advantage of averaging 3 measurements made morning or night and recalling these including a weekly average. PC upload and printout to a PDF file allows data to be given to a GP with almost no effort and no chance of errors.Compared to M7 the M10 includes a cuff with only half the length of tubing. OK for self measurement but probably not enough for a static monitor or one operated by someone else e.g. at the doctors - but since this isn't intended for professional use it's OK.Compared to M6 or M7 the M10 includes memory recall but only stepping back (can't go forwards) but since the readings can be downloaded to a PC the need to step forwards and backwards isn't a problem and probably simplifies the process of recalling measurements.The display is very large and the large cuff is a benefit - as a man with average arms I'm at the limit of a standard cuff and it's useful to measure my arm and those of my partner.The best feature of this monitor over M6 or M7 is the ability to record two sets of measurements A or B e.g. Mr or Mrs within a family. If there is a need to measure another person e.g. a son or daughter this can be done as a guest user. The measurements as a guest are just as valid but have to be be manually written down - no averaging or saving of data.I do question the ability of the device to average three readings made at 15, 30, 60 or 120 sec intervals because this contradicts the requirement to wait 3+ minutes between taking readings to allow the arm to recover however someone might like to say why this is OK. This type of measurement is optional so it's not an issue if you don't need it.Compared to M7 the device switches on by pressing any button so there is no need to press start button to recall memory or take a measurement so it really is one touch to turn on and take a measurement although pressing Start again will turn it off sooner and save batteries.The display is a delight - very large and very clear. Batttery life is also 1400+ measurements vs 300+ of M7.I compared it to the M7 because it replaces M7 as the Omron device with Comfort Cuff. M6 is only worth considering if it's a lot cheaper - only the ability to scroll through memory on M6 in both directions is an advantage and the PC connectivity on M10 is a bonus.The ability to make measurements in morning and evening my not be significant. If after using the device for a few weeks, if there are no differences, then this could be considered a gimic or if it did highlight a problem then it's a benefit. Either way it doesn't need to be used.So the disadvantages of a shorter tube (not a problem) or scrolling forwards (not just backwards) through memory might be considered disadvantages however all the additional benefits are available but only if required. Overall there isn't much not to like.

I purchased this item from Amazon as it was under half the price of the same model in Boots. It arrived and was ready to go in a few seconds. Turning it on you have to set the year, day, month then time before you can use it and each time you change the batteries.I plugged in the cuff, placed exactly where it said and clicked the O/I Start button. The first few times it was great without any issues and I tried the memory function (see below) and a little while later the cuff stopped inflating with a large E on the display. Moving the cuff around a little stopped the E from appearing but every now and again the E still appears then I have to turn it off and on again.One part of the cuff is hard and difficult to curl and with the velcro undeneath your arm it can be difficult to get ahold of.The item comes with a software disc but I had already gone to the manufacturers website and downloaded version 1.6. On the website it says for Windows 7 max whereas I have Windows 8.1 so was wondering if I could install it and fortunately I could. During the install it asked if I wish to install Dot Net Framework 1.1 and I said no. Why? .NET Framework 1.1 is incompatible with my version of Windows and was released at the same time as Visual Studio 2003 (programming software). After the installation the software still worked so I connected the USB to the device and to my computer, downloaded the information for person 1 and exported as a PDF.After a few days of using it I had a doctors appointment, took the BP, downloaded via the software, created the PDF and printed it. As soon as I walked into my doctors office I saw that he has the exact same model (M10 - IT) as I have, gave him the printout and he was over the moon I was so prepared. I asked his opinion on the device and he said he really likes it so even has the doctors stamp of approval too.The only downside to this item is the crap carry case it comes with. It's just about wide enough for the cuff and the device and in the pocket of this case is where there is the diary, CD and destructions. That destruction manual weighs more than the device and contains over 370 pages because of the number of languages it covers.

Cela fait environ 9 jours à raison de trois fois par jour avec à chaque fois trois mesures. C'est bien sans être énorme. On peut avoir deux utilisateurs, qui ont chacun 84 mesures.Les mesures sont récupérables sur ordinateur (windows linux osx) pour avoir un relevé simple et des courbes d'évolution. Voir si la tension monte, diminue, si elle est bien le matin ou pas, le soir ou pas, est impliquant et peut aider à suivre un régime ou traitement.Seul reproche: couvercle des piles qui ne tient pas bien. Mettre un bout de ruban adhésif.Livré avec une sacoche et plein d'accessoires que je n'utilise pas vraiment.Appareil recommandé.

Wer so langsam in ein gehobenes Alter kommt, ist gut beraten ein wenig auf seine Gesundheit zu achten. Dieses Gerät leistet dazu eine wertvolle Hilfe. Klare Ergebnisse, gut ablesbar. Mitgeliefert dazu eine Software die es erlaubt Aufzeichnungen zu machen in tabellarischer Form. Unter Umständen mal hilfreich für einen Arztbesuch. Auch die Anwendung ist recht simpel. Dabei ist es auch möglich Aufzeichnungen für unterschiedliche Anwender zu machen, da das Gerät für 2 Hauptanwender und einen Gastanwender ausgelegt ist. Alles gut aufbewahrt in einer mitgelieferten Aufbewahrungstasche.

L'écran est bien lisible, bref, c'est un super appareil.Le brassard est facile à enfiler sur le bras et à positionner.Ce modèle permet de programmer très facilement un cycle de prises de tension. Vous sélectionnez le programme et l'appareil va automatiquement faire trois mesures espacées d'une minute, puis mémoriser celles-ci, en les classant selon que vous les avez faites le matin ou le soir. Au bout de trois jours, vous avez votre historique de 18 mesures, que vous pouvez visualiser, par mesure, moyenne de 3, moyenne matin, moyenne soir, ou moyenne sur le total. Ce principe correspond à ce que préconisent les cardiologues.Petite remarque: la norme internationale fixe les limites à 135 pour la pression systolique et 85 pour la pression diastolique.En France, on est sur 14 - 9, ce qui fait que les alertes de l'appareil doivent être pondérées.Si vous voulez pousser plus loin l'historique de vos mesures, le CD est facile à installer sur un PC et permet de visualiser davantage de données, mais là, il faut être accro à sa tension!!Dernière info, ce modèle peut servir à deux personnes en même temps grâce à un poussoir A - B

Dass es besser geht, beweist das Panasonic EW-BU75: Dort erfolgt die Zuordnung erst NACH der Messung.- dass die Batterien nur innnerhalb einer festgelegten Uhrzeit gewechselt werden sollen, erschließt sich mir nichtOb die angezeigten Werte genau sind, kann ich nicht beurteilen - ebensowenig wie die Genauigkeit einer Messung durch den Arzt. Die Armmanschette passt bei uns für zwei erwachsene Personen mit unterschiedlichem Armumfang, für kurze Oberarme dürfte sie jedoch 2-3 cm kürzer sein.ZUR SOFTWARE (5 Sterne):+ 2 Personen können mit Klarnamen getrennt verwaltet werden+ sehr einfach zu bedienen+ entgegen der Beschreibung an anderer Stelle vollständig in deutschAuch für Anwender, die keine große PC-Erfahrung haben, lassen sich recht einfach übersichtliche Wertetabellen - getrennt nach Personen - drucken. Den gewünschten Zeitraum kann man vorher festlegen, die Uhrzeit der Messung wird mit ausgedruckt. Wenn entsprechende Software vorhanden ist (Excel, aber auch kostenfreie wie LibreOffice oder OpenOffice), öffnet sich diese Tabelle durch einfachen Doppelklick; Herzschlag-Unregelmäßigkeiten oder Fehlmessungen werden automatisch gekennzeichnet.Die Speicherung ohne weiteres Zutun auf der Desktop-Oberfläche ist äußerst praktisch, weil man damit die erzeugte Datei nicht irgendwo im System suchen muss.Ich schildere dies deswegen so ausführlich, weil z.B. mit dem Panasonic EW-BU75 eine solche detailreiche Auswertung nicht möglich ist; die des Aponorm Professional (microlife) scheint vom Lehrling programmiert zu sein und ist schlicht nicht brauchbar (und nach zwei Jahren Gebrauch war das Aponorm defekt).Für PC-affine User:Speicherung erfolgt wahlweise im csv- oder pdf-Format. Die vom Gerät übernommenen Daten (Access-Datenbank im mdb-Format, PW lässt sich ergoogeln) werden defaultmäßig leider nur im Programmordner abgelegt (es gibt keine Pfad-Option).
