Cayman Kitchen 470 ml Thermal Insulated Stainless Steel Food Flask Container - For Lunch On The Go

Very pleased with this.PROS:- Both the lid and body of the container are 100% metal which is very difficult to find. I only found one other one which is about £45 and is still only a pre-order item called the Forever Flask. Plastic is harder to clean, some of them nearly impossible to clean properly due to the design, and also there's the issue of not wanting plastic touching my hot food.- On this Cayman unit, there is a silicone seal around the lid, but as far as I can tell this does not touch the food at all, as there is a metal ridge between them. After shaking this while full of water and then opening again, only one drop of water managed to reach the silicone seal, the rest of it was dry. I think that drop was actually just from when I opened/closed it, not from the shaking.- Lovely build quality. Feels like such a nicely made product.- My hand can easily fit in here for cleaning, more easily than the Thermos Thermocafe 810ml.- No leaking at all so far.- The body of the container holds heat extremely well. Almost zero change in temperature on the outside of the unit.CONS:- The lid allows heat to pass through fairly quickly. Within a few minutes the lid is like a large hand warmer. So this means this unit won't perform as well as some others which are sealed better. However, maybe my one just has a faulty vacuum in the lid, I'll email the manufacturer and ask, and I'll update the review if I find out anything more. I will do a full temperature test over 24 hours after I find out if my unit is normal or not.- Would be nice if there were more size options, but not a big issue, this is a nice size for a huge drink or big meal. If I want to carry more, I'll just order a second one of these. Very likely I will, one for coffee and one for some hot food. The price is not bad at all, I paid £13 including shipping by Amazon. I would love to see this company make more variations of this, maybe a coffee mug that's all metal, etc. Or maybe a replacement lid for this which is specifically for drinking coffee on the go without spilling.- No handle or place to connect a lanyard, etc. No a big issue but would be nice. I might try to DIY something to prevent me dropping this if I'm eating/drinking without a place to sit.- My lid seems to close a bit wonky, but then when tightened it goes mostly flush with the body. I'm not sure if this is normal, I'll ask the manufacturer and update the review.CONCLUSION:While this isn't perfect, the quality is SO much better than the nasty Thermos brand one I tried (Thermocafe series), which had gaps absolutely everywhere for dirt to get stuck in, even on the inside of the metal container, and in tons of areas on the plastic lid and on the outside of the container. Overall I'm really pleased, even though as it is right now it won't hold heat as well as some others, for me that's a small issue compared to having a Thermos one that can't be cleaned properly and has a plastic lid touching my food.

First ordered 2 of these for our kids school lunches. One had to be returned as it would not close properly no matter how we've tried and clearly had a manufacturing fault as the rim on the bottom part was not even for the lid to go on properly. Had to return it and order a replacement. The new flask had problems too...This time the lid can be screwed on (with great effort) if you're a really strong person, but my kids just can't do that nor can they open it without help as smooth stainless steel has no grip. Really disappointed, but then read reviews on amazon.com and found other people complaining about similar problem. Quality control? Will be returning, again.Other than the lid problems, our one flask that we kept and has no issues is performing ok so far. The food stays more less warm for a few hours (packed at 8am and still just about warm for lunch at 12:30). Looks good, is big enough and we're hoping it will last a while.Real shame we had no luck with a second flask.

My daughter loves it. The only reason of 4 stars is that on the second week, the metal lead was separated from the inside, but I glued it and since them, no problem at all. Nice size.

My partner got it first and then I got it too as it's brilliant! I use it mainly for soups to take to work for lunch. I reheat the soup in the morning and pour it into this container at around 7-8am. It's still warm when I have it during lunch at 12-1pm. If you need the food to be hot after 5-6 hours, then it's the ideal product for it. I don't like using microwaves and this container replaces it just perfectly :) It's leak proof and easy to clean. Good value for money.

I was so impressed with my first one of these that I ordered a second one immediately.It is important to heat the container well first, and I do this by filling it with very hot water and leaving this to stand for 10 minutes or so before use.It is worth investing in an inexpensive digital thermometer with a submersible extension to check the temperature. The seal inside does not come into contact with the contents. In the unlikely event that I should lose one, I would buy another immediately.

I'm pretty pleased with it, I wish it could keep the food a bit warmer but in general it's doing a good job, easy to carry to work and it's a good size for a lunch portion. Definitely solved my problem of having only cold lunches.

I love the fact that it's stainless steel but unfortunately it doesn't keep the food hot for long. Saying that I hadn't warmed the container before putting the hot food in there so I should do that the next time and I'm sure the food will stay warm for longer. The company is great, I first had a faulty lid and they just sent me a new container straight away.

This item was really really good at first, my daughter told me her food was hot at dinnertime. after a couple of uses the stainless steel lid came off the top part showing the polystyrene inside I requested a replacement an took pictures but they wanted me to send it back, too much hassle so I super glued it which seems to have done the trick so far.
