No temperature control it's on or off but makes great paninis

Hi, I am considering buying a sandwich press. there are two- vst025 and vst049 on amazon-both same price roughly. Can you help with which is better?

Hi there the VST049 can make 2 sandwiches or 2 paninis. The VST025 can also make 2 sandwiches but can fit up to 3 paninis. So slightly bigger & if you shop around is sometimes available cheaper than the smaller VST049 option. So a know brained. The VST026 4 can make 4 sandwiches & more paninis, great for larger families. I'd recommend getting the VST025 if you don't have larger family coz if you have guests & making paninis you can make 3 at once. 🥰 These machines do make great quick & easy yummy toasty sandwiches. I highly recommend them. Enjoy 🥰

How do I use the hinged lid - mine just seems to have one position. Do I have to adjust something for thicker bread?

Before you close it just move it into flat position then bring down lid. My lock broke after a few weeks - I just put a heavy jar on top.. Perfect !

Hi, is this suitable for relatively thin slices of bread

It is suitable but you have to watch out as you can not setup the heat. So you have to be careful. I have made sandwiches with toast, both thin and bulk slices, and with panini. Thin slices, when pressed, get very thin so it is better to not press them, gest let the lid to press the sandwich with his own weight. I think the best way is to use panini for sandwiches. You can find those in superstores.
