I bought one of these last September but this year pressing all the release buttons didn't release it, would oiling make any difference, any ideas?

Hi as there are no mechanical parts as such I can't see that oiling would do anything. We have found periodically that some of the new Patlocks seem stiff to operate at first and that the heavy duty steel rods do not slide in and out as easy as expected. However this is simply sorted by sliding the patlock in and out 5 or 6 times which then removes any hidden burrs and will make it much easier to use. Once done this will not occur again. However I wonder if perhaps you may need someone with strong hands / fingers to be able to really push the indents in to release it fully?

My handles are not smooth. They have nobbles on them Would this device fit over them?

I would think so. The holes where the handles slot in are a lot bigger than the handles themselves.

Does this product fit all patio doors. ? I have a new property two years old and went to know if it will suit?

Not all patio doors. If the ends of your patio door handles are wider than 35cm, it won't fit over them and lock.

Do you have to fit tamper resist spindles? Is it easy and worth fitting?

Yes you should always fit the new spindles, because if not, then Mr Nasty could simply prise off the handles and push the existing spindles through the door and the Patlock will fall onto the floor, rendering it useless.
