House of the Rising Sun: A Novel

Excellent character development, people both good and bad trying to survive the end of civilization. Most don't make it, because that's what happens when the modern world ends; not because of some evil conspiracy. The author doesn't have any of the familiar themes of so many disaster novels: snowflake liberals, survivalists, government conspiracies or rampaging hoards of ..... (take your pick). Also a good description of the disaster itself.My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that I would have liked more description of that disaster, but given the set up I understand.At any rate this is going onto my bookself.

The story started with a bang but seemed to slow down half way through with too much emphasis on the warehouse and control over it, almost as if the author ran out of ideas to talk about.
