Review: Baking is fun with these! - These are great – They look well made and sturdy and nice colours too a blue and a red one are included – the sheets I have had before are just plain black or grey. Great for baking/ using to put under things when on the grill they are made from thick FDA Safe & BPA Free Silicone They arrived well packaged and were rolled into each other in a plastic wrap. Before use you need to wash them in hot soapy water and dry off. They come with rulers on the side of them that’s useful for cakes and also they are non –stick and there are circles on them to help when making cookies. They only need to be wiped down to clean - although it is recommended you hand wash with dish soap and warm water or you can use the dishwasher in the top rack- they are also microwave and freezer safe. I know they are classed as baking mats but if you wanted to cook fish fingers for example on them to negate the need to use tin foil I am sure that would work as I have always done that with my other silicone mats. Even though I received this order at either a discount or without a cost for my own review, I can assure you that, that has not influenced my opinion in any way. I only accept / request items that I'm interested in and as you have seen by my review, or any previous ones I have done, I always mention the good and the not so good/cons (if any). I highly recommend these baking mats. I used mine today to make perfect little meringues using the circles – this was the recipe I used: from BBC Good food. 4 large organic egg whites, at room temperature 115g caster sugar 115g icing sugar Preheat the oven to fan 100C/ conventional 110C/gas 1⁄4. Line 2 baking sheets with Bake-O-Glide non-stick liner or parchment paper (meringue can stick on greaseproof paper and foil). Tip the 4 large egg whites into a large clean mixing bowl (not plastic). Beat them on medium speed with an electric hand whisk until the mixture resembles a fluffy cloud and stands up in stiff peaks when the blades are lifted. Now turn the speed up and start to add115g caster sugar, a dessertspoonful at a time. Continue beating for 3-4 seconds between each addition. It’s important to add the sugar slowly at this stage as it helps prevent the meringue from weeping later. However, don’t over-beat. When ready, the mixture should be thick and glossy. Sift one third of the 115g icing sugar over the mixture, then gently fold it in with a big metal spoon or rubber spatula. Continue to sift and fold in the remaining icing sugar a third at a time. Again, don’t over-mix. The mixture should now look smooth and billowy, almost like a snow drift. Scoop up a heaped dessertspoonful of the mixture. Using another dessertspoon, ease it on to the baking sheet to make an oval shape (pic 3). Or just drop them in rough rounds, if you prefer. Bake for 1 1⁄2-1 3⁄4 hours in a fan oven, 1 1⁄4 hours in a conventional or gas oven, until the meringues sound crisp when tapped underneath and are a pale coffee colour. Leave to cool on the trays or a cooling rack. (The meringues will now keep in an airtight tin for up to 2 weeks, or frozen for a month.) Serve two meringues sandwiched together with a generous dollop of softly whipped double cream. Review: An excellent piece of kitchen equipment - I was uncertain when I ordered this as to whether it would hold on my kitchen counters but it's incredible. Placed on a dry counter, it immediately sticks firmly and does not move despite pressure on the rolling pin. It is exceptionally light and rolls up easily to fit in a drawer. It is also extremely easy to clean and one doesn't even need flour on the surface to roll out pastry as it doesn't stick at all. It is clearly marked with various sized circles so that one can roll out the pastry exactly right for the size of dish or tin and also offers various measures comparisons which it's good to have so readily to hand. I've now used it a considerable number of times, wiped it over with clean warm water and the surface has not deteriorated at all. I can highly recommend this product - you won't be disappointed!

A valuable baking tool.
A useful addition to my baking resources, nothing sticks to it so it is a boon when kneading bread dough or rolling pastry. I have not used it in my oven, it is too large. The printed measurements can be helpful but I find I sometimes still use a ruler because it can be tricky to line up the dough in exactly the right place. One other point to consider: this is a large mat designed not to stick to anything so it does not stick to the work surface underneath it and can cause problems when it rucks up as you are working - maybe weigh it down at the corners.

Great product!
Although these are a very big mats, they fit on my largest trays (just about) and the smallest circle size is great for making macarons! I even just put baking paper over them to get the size when I'm mass macaron baking and the mats aren't enough. The silicone is thick and strong, although bear in mind to put them on a tray before putting down cookies/macaron batter because there is no way to lift them alone without the sides flopping (or you could slide them off the table on to a baking tray). Not an issue for me though - I would recommend them.

A real pleasure to work with.
This mat was amazing. I used it for Macarons. The Macaron's didnt turn out very well through human error but i did two batches, one on the mat and one on parchment/baking paper and the only edible batch came from the mat. The circles made piping easy, they didnt stick and it was easy to clean. Having the mat has made me want to try them again because it took a lot of fuss out, otherwise i wouldnt want to go in for the hassle. Its also made me hunt for other recipes i could use with the mat. A real pleasure to work with and im definitely looking into getting another one.

Silicone Pastry and Oven mat
Nice quality oven and pastry mat. Good size and sticks well to the work top which means you can do work your pastry without interruption. I made some pizza dough recently and it worked well, especially when kneading. I tested it's oven capabilities by cooking bacon under the grill and it held it's own nicely, however, cleaning the oven dried fat off the mat wasn't as easy as I expected it to be as it needed a fair bit of washing to get it all off, but it beats cleaning the oven.

Markings a bit of a downer
Wish it was just unmarked (without the measurements) as basically that works if you need exactly the same size. Probably OK for cookies/biscuits Better to get something unmarked but see through and then place a paper template underneath with the size you need. The template can be reused as it is not exposed to any mess.

Perfect for me...n definitely worth a purchase!
I love this silicone baking mat. It's the size of a regular baking tray and the guides on the mat really help with spacing and the measurements along the sizes are really useful in helping keeping sizing consistent amongst the bake. I use mine for mainly baking cookies and it much easier than using grease proof paper n measuring that out. It allows u to keep them on the mat too cool a little before transferring to a cooling rack, n the mat cools quite quick compared to a baking tray. Easy to clean by wiping down n cause it can roll up it is perfect for storing. Tempted to buy a few more! Definitely recommend this product!

Perfetto

Truly non stick and easy clean up
Another kitchen item I cannot live without. I bake a lot of cookies and using these sheets makes clean up a breeze and NOTHING sticks. I have also made the "2 ingredient dough" bagels and biscuits on these (half Greek yogurt and half self rising flour). These are pretty sticky and messy but cook up to perfection and slide right off these mats after they come out of the oven.

Great Mats for Roasting Vegetables
After a quick wash with soap and warm water, I put my mats to use. I mainly use them to roast vegetables. They clean up easily and I feel so much better about using re-usable silicone than non-reusable baking paper. Better for the environment. I'll definitely buy more products from BakeitFun.
