I have two of these now as I find them so useful, particularly in the cold winter months. I love the fact it automatically clicks off after 90 minutes as it feels safe to fall asleep with. I also love the 3 settings as it means I can adjust it depending on what other layers I have on. I do find number 3 is warm enough to be felt through a blanket. It’s great for joint pain, it’s a good size and is larger than a normal hot water bottle but a lot lighter. I also feel it’s safer than a normal hot water bottle as you don’t need to pour boiling water into a small spout.

Great heat pad for easing aches & pains Just plug in & use, so easy. Top heat (No.3) is hot but has a timed automatic safety switch off so no need to worry if you fall asleep whilst using.

This is my second one, they don't last forever but last long enough with heavy use. Great for pain relief. Gets quite hot.

It is good to treat back pain but this newer version is much flimsier than the original one but does the job.

Think small version of a electric blanket (about the size of a lap try) and you are not far from wrong. Husband thought that when he first saw it, as a tiny electric blanket for leprechauns. I do sometimes wonder who I live with..... Whatever he thought if it made my OA feel any better is was worth trying, easy to plug it into the pad and a longish cord (could have done with it being a little longer) but no real issue. Only thing is I can not leave it plugged into the wall socket and just switch the pad to on when wanting to use it so have to bend down and plug it in, annoying when the back flares up but then again it can be moved and used any where there is a plug, so chairs are made more comfortable with this behind your back relaxing any muscle aches or muscle spasms. It does feel nice and soothing on the back, knees and shoulders have tried it on most areas when having a bad flare up and it does not take away the pain if only but helps if only for the soothing effect. Most people will tell you that if in pain you will try virtually anything if you think that it might help if only someway. For me this did and still is, using it when having a read or a sit down when the aches start think the real benefit will be come the winter months when you tend to hunch yourself up more and then feel the muscle spasms more so. Will update in a few months time to say how it is faring. It heats up so quickly and the control switch lights up so you can see even in the dark if on and what setting. After ninety mins it switches itself off, a good job incase you fall asleep with it on. I very nearly fell asleep with it on my knees, only for husband to wake me up and tell me it was still on, yes, he did not know it goes off after ninety mins as a safety cut out method. So pleased with the heating pad but not pleased with other half. So nice and comforting, no messy hot water bottle tops to mess with (fiddly at times especially if suffering from OA in hands). No back and fro to the microwave to heat up a pack for not that long time. Well nothing as long as the heat this seems to keep and can be just warmed up again when needed at a switch of a button. It feels soft and no bulky or anything heavy on it the heaviest part is the control switch and even that no too heavy. Could do with an all over body one come the winter months.

I've had two of these Beuer heat pads - the full back and neck, and the lumbar only versions - for several years.The most used (and the most abused), the lumbar pad, recently gave out; I thought it was the controller, but it turned out to be the pad itself, which promptly kyboshed the other controller (they are interchangeable) when I switched it over. So I've just bought this. Mixed in amongst the high praise for the many different versions of this product are a good few condemnatory reviews; not enough heat, soon failed, etc.; but a few things need to be borne in mind when deploying them. First off, even with quality-controlled, automated mass-production processes, no manufacturer that I've come across produces 100% perfect products year after year; if you get a duff one from a major firm such as this, instead of wingeing about it in a review, you should demand a replacement or your money back. Amazon makes this pretty easy (although their system isn't 100% perfect, either). It's worth noting that Beuer offers three year guarantees. The PERCEIVED heat emission from these products varies enormously for more than one reason. For example, if you're pretty old (like me) the heat from these pads won't feel as strong as it does for a twenty-something. (Older people can easily suffer burns unknowingly from, for example, hot water bottles, because of age-related sensory degeneration. Secondly, much depends on whether you apply the heat to bare skin or through clothing, and if the latter, what kind of clothing and how many layers. Thirdly, the greatest effect comes from firm, tight, overall contact, whether against skin or through a garment. A loose contact will have you barely feeling the heat at maximum. Fourthly, the absolute maximum effect is achieved if the heat pad is trapped between you and, say, a mattress or the back of a chair - which Beuer used to warn you not to do, but which I always did anyway for best effect. However, they don't seem to mention this any more, so I suppose it was always OK. Life without these aids at this age would be bordering on the intolerable, notwithstanding the availability of gel packs, hot water bottles and wheat packs - none of which can offer anything like the sustained, steady output of an electric pad, which can lull you to sleep in complete safety over an hour or more. I've also just ordered the newest version, apparently a heated cushion, from Germany for almost £55. From a parsimonious one such as I, there can be no higher praise

Ideal for my 92-year old mother who derives much relief from back pain and associated aches. Flexible and sufficiently compact to be used on other areas of the body. Three heat settings for desired intensity. The timer prevents overheating and is easy to use. It is effective in relation to the cost and can be used either constantly or occasionally.

Article reçu 2 jours avant la date prévue dans un très bon emballage. Dès l'ouverture du colis, on constate tout de suite que le coussin est identique à la photo donnée sur la page du vendeur. L'article, très bien fini, est livré avec une notice assez complète, qui se lit facilement et donne la marche à suivre pour mettre en œuvre le coussin en évitant les petites erreurs, qui pourraient abréger la vie de celui-ci. Ses dimensions (44 cm X 33 cm) sont conformes aux caractéristiques données. J'apprécie sa fiche amovible qui permet de le débrancher, ainsi que les 3 gros chiffres lumineux du thermostat de réglage facilement visibles (le 0 ne s'éclaire pas), la puissance de 100 W, et l'épaisseur qui ne doit pas excéder 1 cm environ. Les 3 niveaux de température sont : 0- Arrêt. 1- Chaleur minimale (qui ne chauffe pas mal à mon goût). 2- Chaleur moyenne (que personnellement je trouve suffisante) 3- Chaleur maximale (que personnellement je trouve trop forte). Comme indiqué, l'article s'arrête au bout de 90 minutes ; sur le thermostat le niveau de chaleur choisi s'éclaire (les chiffres 1,2,3) puis se met à clignoter dès que le temps de 90 mn est écoulé. Il est déconseillé de s'endormir avec et surtout de l'utiliser plié en deux ou roulé (à cause des résistances intérieures qui risquent de se casser). Le cordon d'alimentation mesure au total 2,36 mètres dont 0,63m du coussin au thermostat qui mesure lui-même 13,5 cm. En conclusion : Le coussin chauffant est conforme à ce qu'en dit le vendeur ; la micro-fibre est douce et confortable ; il chauffe bien (peut-être trop à mon goût), vite, et est garanti 3 ans. Dans l'immédiat, cet article Allemand, à l'air d'avoir tous les atouts pour combler l'acheteur que je suis, et certainement d'autres. Pour ma part, je suis donc satisfait de cet achat. Cependant, comme tous ces articles assez fragiles, il faut laisser passer du temps pour ce prononcer définitivement (ce qui ne veux pas dire que le client ne doit pas le choisir s'il lui convient). Article à suivre donc. NOTE du 18 février 2019: Cet article fonctionne encore à cette date soit depuis plus de 5 ans, et en hiver il est dans mon lit tous les soirs pour me chauffer le dos. D'après mon expérience je peux dire que c'est un article extrêmement robuste.
