The classic beater watch, just put it on and don't worry no matter what you're doing. As G-Shocks go it's fairly basic but more than adequate for your daily needs, includes Time, Day/Date, Stopwatch, Count down timer, Backlight, 200m water resistance, Shock proof . Over 25 G-shocks in my collection and I didn't have this one ??? So purchased from Amazon US for under £50 including Duties and P+P. Watch arrived in 8 days via Royal Mail tracked, but as with my previous purchases form Amazon US the packaging does leave a lot to be desired as many have said before ! Strap can be a little stiff at 1st but will wear in, also the adjust button can be difficult to operate as it's recessed, it is designed that way to prevent accidental operation and perfectly normal (you don't have a faulty watch). Battery should last 3-4 years, backlight/alarm usage dependent, but you can easily replace it yourself (Batt is a CR2016) there are plenty of U-tube video's showing you how. Straps are prone to breaking over time, but replacements are readily available. Hope this helps ! EDIT 1 Nearly 2 years on from original purchase and the watch is still going strong. Still on original battery and no signs of it fading yet. Over 60 G Shocks in my collection now and I still wear this watch on a regular basis.

This is a brilliant tough workhorse of a watch with a retro style. I received the newer DW5600UE version with the LED backlight not the older 5600E with the EL yellowish light. The UE version is usually £20-30 more. Very pleased.

This watch is comfortable, light, tough and has all the features most of us are likely to use. The back light is excellent, I really like the way it looks on wrist and unlike many digital watches it shows the time when using the timer and stopwatch functions. It has one flaw, the adjust button is recessed and I found it impossible to press with any of my fingers. If you have a set of small screw drivers it is a simple task to replace this pusher with the Casio part for the 2, 4 and 8 position pushers which are slightly longer. I did this, it cost £5.38 and has transformed the watch. There are videos online showing how to do it.

I ordered this Casio Men's G-Shock DW5600E-1V watch because I have previously owned a similar G-Shock model and loved it. I prefer this design to many other G-Shock models because it is a little more subdued in appearance, and smaller than most others too, while still giving all the usual G-Shock benefits: strong build quality, excellent case protection, alarm, stop watch, back light etc. This purchase is intended as a gift, and I am confident the recipient will enjoy it as much as I have with my own model. However, because it is a gift, I was a little disappointed with the box it came in. I knew at that price it would't come in the tin presentation box that most G-Shocks come in. However, the cardboard box it did come in was small and flimsy, and, more importantly it didn't come in the one pictured in the original sales post. The pictured box was also cardboard, but more substantial, and came in three pieces, not just the one piece that I received… Apart from this, I am pleased with my purchase. It came in at a very reasonable price, and was delivered promptly within three days.

Excellent, just excellent service, extremely quick delivery from US to IK with no issues. Excellent watch at a reasonable price.

È il g-shock per antonomasia, tutti gli altri sono arrivati dopo. Il numero 1 è lui. La sua robustezza è leggendaria, l' affidabilità non è mai stata messa in discussione. Qui non ci sono funzioni inutili, questo è l'erede diretto del dw-5000, il capostipite di tutti i g-shock; vale il principio "back to basics" con un rapporto qualità/prezzo difficilmente eguagliabile. È protagonista indiscusso nei forum internazionali; è apprezzatissimo in ambito militare dove insieme ai cugini dw 6900 e dw 9052 si divide i favori dei reparti di elite di tutto il mondo. Non mancano neanche apparizioni in alcune missioni spaziali. Vanta un numero impressionante di comparsate cinematografiche, difficile fare un elenco di quante siano... in rete ci sono svariati siti che provano a fare una sorta di censimento. È da sempre al polso di chi pratica sport estremi e di chi ha bisogno di affidabilità e robustezza senza compromessi. Ci sono tanti g-shock ma quando il gioco si fa duro è sempre lui la prima scelta, inutile negarlo. In un noto forum internazionale, qualche anno fa, insieme al Mudman è stato votato come l' orologio migliore del mondo (vinse il Mudman G-9000, il DW-5600 arrivò secondo con uno scarto ridottissimo. Primo e secondo, un risultato strepitoso per Casio). Preciso e versatile, con dimensioni contenute lo consiglio a tutti. Non male anche al polso di una ragazza sportiva. Un breve aggiornamento dopo 2 anni e mezzo; l' orologio ha fatto di tutto senza problemi di sorta. Non è mancato niente: mtb, alpinismo, snorkeling, viaggi e ovviamente mi accompagna nella vita di tutti i giorni. Una scelta quasi obbligata per chi bada al sodo.

I recently got the Casio G-Shock and I’m really impressed! It feels super tough and well-built — exactly what you expect from a G-Shock. The design is classic and stylish enough to wear every day, but also rugged enough for outdoor activities and sports. The timekeeping is accurate, the display is easy to read, and I love that it’s shock-resistant and durable. Overall, it’s a reliable watch that’s worth the price and has become my go-to for daily wear. Definitely a great purchase!

What is there to say about Casio? Does what it says on the tin.

Actualización 4: Hoy, después de 9 años, este noble reloj empezó a mostrarse cansado, esta semana lo usé para irme a andar en bici de montaña y de regreso, ya de noche, quise ver la hora. Al presionar el botón de iluminación no me recibió el conocido resplandor azulverde que ilumina el reloj completo (como el indiglo de los Timex) si no una pantalla en blanco. Me preocupé que mi reloj se hubiera descompuesto y presioné el botón de mode, y eso hizo que el reloj volviera a funcionar. Volví a presionar el botón de luz y la pantalla LCD se apagó por completo. Supuse que es la batería, recordé que este reloj dice que tiene una batería de 10 años y, efectivamente, este mes marca los 9.5 años de uso. Este buen reloj que me ha acompañado por varios viajes y aventuras todavía tiene pila, pero se le estaba acabando la luz interior (así nos pasa a veces a todos), así que encargué una batería CR2016 de Energizer aquí mismo en Amazon y se la cambié yo mismo. El proceso está más o menos sencillo, hay muchos tutoriales en internet y lo puede hacer uno mismo si tiene algo de experiencia abriendo electrónicos. Solamente recomendaría comprar un botecito de grasa de silicón para lubricar el empaque y que quede como nuevo. Pero si no, basta con llevarlo a cualquier relojero y el cambio debería estar listo en menos de 10 minutos. Después de cambiar la pila el reloj está como nuevo, listo (quiero pensar) para otros 10 años de aventura. Compren este reloj, es el mejor reloj que puedan tener. Es discreto, no se nota muy interesante ni nada, pero es bueno, es resistente, es duradero. Es más, el mío no tiene la pantalla rayada, ni he tenido que cambiarle el extensible. Tiene una cortadura pequeña que le hice una vez mientras cortaba madera, pero hasta le da carácter. Es un buen reloj este G-Shock. Aquí nos veremos en unos años, ojalá... ************************************ Actualización 3: Ya no iba a regresar a escribir aquí, pero justo hoy que llovió se me mojó el reloj y le dí un golpe contra la puerta del autobús y me acordé de lo bueno que salió, sigue como el primer día. Si se la están pensando no lo hagan más: este es el mejor reloj que pueden comprar para un uso rudo, además se vé muy bien también, buen diseño, aguantador, sobrio, funcional. Cómprenlo, no se van a arrepentir. ************************************ Actualización 2: Pues ya tengo 2 años con el reloj, esta será la última actualización de la reseña. Sin duda es el mejor reloj que tengo. De los G-Shock tengo también un mudmaster del triple de precio y otros 2 GA100 (de manecillas) y este es mi favorito, no le pasa absolutamente nada, es el reloj más rudo y más resistente que he tenido. Tanto me gusta que compré un repuesto del extensible hace como 1 año pensando que se podría resecar el plástico y pffff para nada, el reloj sigue como nuevo y el extensible de repuesto está sin usar, no ha sido necesario cambiarlo para nada, el plástico sigue igual de fuerte y la hebilla metálica está como si nada. No hay pierde, este es el mejor reloj que pueden comprar, los otros modelos son muy buenos también y las manecillas se ven muy bien, pero este reloj es sobrio y resistente y no le pasa ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA, aguanta agua dulce, salada, lodo, piedras, golpes, sudor, aguas termales, regadera, jabón, etc, etc, etc. No se van a arrepentir y vale cada peso de lo que cuesta, recomendadísimo. La pila no ha sido necesario cambiarla y no se vé que vaya a necesitarlo todavía. Sí, es un reloj básico, pero es perfecto, perfecto para el uso diario y el uso extremo. ************************************ Actualización 1: He seguido usando el reloj durante 6 meses y casi a diario lo traigo puesto mientras hago un poco de nado (nada extremo, entre 2 y 3 km) y no ha habido ningún problema, hasta me baño con él y el reloj sigue como si nada. También tuve oportunidad de usarlo en una carrera de bici de montaña y estuvo expuesto al sol y sudor durante 3 horas sin ningún problema, también le cayó lodo y el reloj no se ha rayado. No hay más que decir, es un reloj económico y sumamente resistente, no hay pierde en la compra. Sumamente recomendable. ************************************ Reseña original: Este reloj oscila entre los $429 MXN y los $1,100 MXN así que deben tener cuidado de pescarlo en el precio bajo que ofrece Amazon directamente. Respecto al reloj no tengo más que buenas opiniones, el precio es excelente, por $429 pesos casi no hay opciones de relojes que aguanten golpes y agua y este reloj lo hace. La hebilla es de metal por lo que es extra resistente. Lo recomiendo altamente, lo usé en un viaje de 700km en motocicleta y aguantó la vibración perfectamente, me metí al mar con él y no le pasó nada, ni siquiera se condensó el cristal. También me metí a nadar en agua dulce y no le pasó nada, también lo utilicé en un río de aguas termales y ni la temperatura ni los minerales del río (fué en las grutas de Tolantongo, en el estado de Hidalgo) lo afectó, el reloj sigue como si nada. La verdad he pensado en comprar otro modelo ge g-shock pero no le veo caso, éste reloj funciona perfectamente. Respecto a la luz es de tipo "illuminator" o en otros marcas le dicen "indi-glo" lo que significa que toda la pantalla se ilumina con un tono azul-verde. Eso hace que sea muy fácil de leer en la noche. No le veo ningún problema al reloj, tiene funcionalidad sencilla, un cronómetro y un medidor de tiempo hacia atrás, no tiene termómetro ni altímetro ni nada más, pero es suficiente para el precio que tiene. Altamente recomendable. Además es de un tamaño razonable, no es muy pequeño ni tampoco es demasiado grande. Altamente recomendable. Viene en un estuche de metal hexagonal que, además, se ve muy bien.
