A good value pack of w/c brushes ideal for the begginer. Would go well with a set of Cotman paint and make a nice present for the budding artist in your life.

This set of brushes is a great value. The Cotman brand is said to be student grade, but I found them to be well made, with quality materials. In my opinion, every bit as nice as the more expensive "professional" grade brushes. There is a nice spring in the tips and they shape right up after use. I also like the nice assortment of brush sizes. I purchased these with the Cotman set of 10 tubes of water colors. I highly recommend this set of brushes as well as the Cotman water colors. They are both very high quality.

Avant l'achat de ces pinceaux, j'ai toujours utilisé des pinceaux en poil naturel. Je suis passée au synthétique par soucis d'éthique. Et autant dire que ce fameux passage à été plutôt difficile... J'avais pourtant de grands espoirs en ce set de pinceaux, la réputation de Winsor & Newton n'étant plus à faire. Le fait est, pourtant, qu'ils ont une capacités de retient de l'eau et des pigments assez médiocres, je suis sans arrêt obligée de retremper mon pinceau et j'ai du mal à avoir de beaux aplats... Après, c'est peut-être moi qui m'y prend mal. Ça reste cependant un petit set plutôt sympa pour découvrir les différentes formes de pinceaux sans se ruiner. Cependant, je suis convaincue qu'on peut trouver mieux en synthétique.

I am definitely the lowest of beginners but the brushes work very well. They have a great edge, they don't shed, and they arrived exactly as promised.
