I had been given a couple of these DVDs by a friend, and watched one or two on cable TV so I knew that this collection would go down well with my granddaughters. The computer animation is 'stylised' (rather like Barbie herself) and whilst very good quality is not in my opinion in the Pixar league. However, this collection arrived promptly, well packed, in pristine condition and exactly as described, so I am very pleased.The 'Barbie' brand gets a lot of stick about its stereotypical portrayal of young girls, and frankly there is no attempt here to address serious issues like disability, poor self-image, poverty etc. however I'll get off my soapbox and confess that for any little girl (or boy?) under 10 years, this is innocent fun, with catchy songs that children will love.

I bought this for my 6 year old grand daughter for Christmas as we have both watched some of the Barbie films and found them really enjoyable. I was just going to buy her 3 or 4 titles then I saw the boxed set and it actually worked out cheaper than buying them separately. The presentation box is beautiful, my grand daughter loved it so now she can watch her favourites over and over [Rapunzel, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker] and catch up on some never seen before. I am really glad I bought this, excellent value for money

I purchased this box set for my 4 year old daughter's Christmas present and at £30 for 19 discs was excellent value too.I must admit when she wanted to watch them I had planned to put on the DVD and do a runner, BUT they are actually rather good. The stories are interesting with good morals such as friendship, caring for each other and being just good, which are great qualities indeed. Even my 13 year old son has enjoyed them!Our favourites are Princess Charm School, Fashion Tale and the two Fairytopia stories.

First the films - my daughter already has some of the titles and has watched more on Nick Jnr so the purchase had the double benefit of freeing up space on the Sky Box.The films are surprisingly watchable as I often have to sit through them to answer questions from my eight year old and keep her from annoying her younger sister who is simply captivated by the films.The quality of the stories does vary and they tend to prefer the more magical of the wide choice of stories within the set. The major plus from my point of view is that they do see it as a treasure box and so far have actually put the films away when they've finished with them.The cases are very much the slim ones hence the box is smaller than you might think, and also why the girls won't give up earlier editions. The box does need to be handled with some care though so I would suggest parental help with getting DVDs out with younger children.Even at the £49 if you don't have any then it's a good way to get a lot of films that at least hold the attention of my children and teach some good lessons without being heavy handed about it.

Do not buy this if you have a low pain threshold. But do buy it if you have a little one who has seen and likes a couple of the barbie movies (if you like one you will probably like them all)My daughter loves this box set and asks to see them again and again. She was sick recently and happily watched numbers of them back to back.It was on a lightning deal and I can't fault the excellent value for money.

My daughter is collecting all the barbie DVDs so this looked the perfect Christmas gift, my daughter is 9 yrs old so will love this as it looks like there are some films in here that she hasn't seen. It comes in a pretty pink storage box too.very pleased and a good price too for the amount of films in there.

This was a christmas pressie for my girls 9 and 4 which they love. This is also by far the cheapest i have seen this box set.Each dvd has its own plastic case and there are 19 films to choose from .I have also often found myself being distracted by them once they are on.This is a bargain and amust for any barbie fan !!!!!!!
