Works very well
Had a load of Ralph Lauren Polo's and Ts in nay that look great but had a fair bit of sun fading and general washing related fade, so though id give this stuff ago as it seems daft to buy more new ones when these where just faded but in good condition. Consulted with Gemini on the procedure and it was very helpful, I had 1.6kg of clothes dry weight that amounted to 4 sachets normally 1 sachet does 250g or 500g lighter shade, so as I was re-dying already navy I could use a bit less. Need to order salt I used 1kg and 4 sachets and used a plasters mixing tub (giant bucket) followed the instructions and they have come out like new again no fades just a nice navy color. The labels and logos stay the same colour they should be as they are polyester. The only hard part was the rinsing out afterwards as you need to rinse until clear so I used the shower but as I did 7 items it was hard work but if only doing a few its not as bad. You can use the washing machine version but I dont like the idea of that as I just know when washing something white there will be some dye lurking somewhere later on! You then wash them afterwards in the washing machine as normal and then hang out to dry. They do look alot darker when they are wet almost black but dont worry they look fine once dry. Some of the tshirts are different colour combos but I think that is down the material type and age as some of the older RL polos were much thicker cotton in comparison to some of the newer ones. I did a pima cotton tank top at the same time and a zip up hoodie and they turns out like new as well but perhaps not quite enough dye for the hoodie to go as dark blue as the rest did but it look like its much newer and consistent colour all the way an not faded like before Defo worth using and Id do this again maybe on the black ones, I wouldn't try it on grey's well maybe but the primary colour items it works well.

Worked much better than I expected!
I died a silk dress and a linen+ramie mix trousers. They were both pinkish to start with and this dye turned the dress into a gorgeous vibrant olive green. Not too dark, maybe because on the packet it said it is not meant for silk, so perhaps that's why it didn't turn it too dark, but I actually love it. The trousers that were a strange dark rosy beige to start with, turned brown with this, which makes sense in terms of color mixing. Either way, I love it! It was really easy to use too, I used a small plastic tub, filled it with hot tap water and added some boiling water to make it really hot. I then had some dishwasher salt, that I added for the salt component, and then the dye. I had previously washed both items quickly just by hand with a dash of detergent to make sure I am not leaving any stains and that it would take evenly to the fabric. Gave them a little rinse, then I put both in, and swished them around so they would get evenly coated, and then basically kept swishing them every few minutes. Once it was cooled down enough to go in with gloves, I made sure I squeezed all the air pockets out. Honestly, it turned out better than I expected, no blotches, a nice even color, even if not the exact color I thought they would be, but actually even better.

Great, vibrant color but requires a lot of effort
The dye worked perfectly, giving my faded clothes a vibrant and completely even new color. However, the hand-dyeing process is quite time-consuming and messy. Excellent results, just be prepared for some effort!

Amazing results and so easy to use
I’m really impressed with DYLON Hand Dye! It was so easy to use and gave my fabric a beautiful, even colour with great coverage. The instructions were clear, the process was straightforward, and the finished result completely refreshed my item and made it look almost new again. The colour came out vibrant and stayed looking great after washing. It’s a fantastic, affordable way to upcycle clothes and fabrics instead of replacing them. I’d definitely recommend DYLON Hand Dye and will be using it again!

SUPER PATCHY 👎🏽
I’ve used Dylon Machine pods with great success in the past. This is the first time I’ve used Dylon hand dye. I used the hand dye because I only had one small item, light in weight and in colour, so it seemed a waste to get a machine pod for such a small item. It was a fail, despite following the instructions exactly. I had tried to dye an XS shirt that was 100% Linen and weighed less than 200g. It was a really evenly light mauve colour originally. So I thought Brown would be a sensible choice to colour it. It was easy enough to do, the instructions are clear. The colour is exactly as shown and really intense, which I am happy with. I really like the colour It’s exactly the colour I had hoped that it would be and the only reason I gave one star, for the colour and for the ease of dying. But ultimately the result came out so patchy and my shirt is currently looking like a tie dye 50 shades of brown. It looks like it’s got faded sweat stains all over it. I’ve tried to capture in a photo, but you can’t quite see the many different shades of brown in the light. It also has black spots all over the place too, despite dissolving the dye powder first in warm water. I wasn’t expecting an amazing result, but what I have got is disappointing. Especially give the item is 100% linen. I do like that the buttons and inside branding tag and machine wash logo stayed pure white. I will now need to buy another packet and dye the shirt again, which is disappointing because I was using the hand dye because I was trying to avoid being excessive for such a small job. I wanted to avoid waste. I would recommend that if you are going to try these sachets, buy two incase anything goes wrong. But, I think for me, I’ll probably stick to the machine pods and wouldn’t buy this again nor would I recommend this product.

Saved my shirt!
Brilliant product! I used this to revive a sun-bleached shirt, and the results were far better than I expected. The colour came out even and rich, and the shirt is wearable again instead of looking faded. Really impressed with how well it worked, and I'll definitely be using DYLON again.

Dyes up to 5 tee shirts to a high quality colour!
Bought this for a sample as I needed to dye some fabric for an event. The sachet states. Only 1 shirt this will dye. I was sceptical as I had never used hand dye previously, but trusted the brand so I gave it a go! So please I did! Excellent product easy to use but it will dye everything it touches so wear gloves and old clothes! I out 2 t shirts in the bucket just to see what the colour quality would be like and then dried in sunlight- it tells you not to do this but I wanted to check the product to make sure it was a bright colour and the colour didn’t fade! Colour is exactly as described but I did leave it 30 minutes longer than suggested. I then put another 3 t shirts in the mixture and left for a few hours stirring occasionally and these also dyed to a very bright pink. Great coverage and you get way more for your money than the instructions suggest. Easy to use but watch your clothes and skin they will stain instantly when they come into contact.

A quick, affordable way to save an old shirt.
It worked as I had hoped. I dyed an old grey cotton button down shirt that I bought at the Gap years ago. It turned out well and was easy to use. I am not sure how long the color will last but it seemed to do a good job. It looks good so far.
