Yes, you can..it lubricates enough to use on its own but just as good as "undercoat" to shaving soap, foam or gel.

Is it OK with an electric shaver?

I bought this to use with electric shaver, works ok, menthol scented, does not soften stubble like Clarins pre shave but for the price does an ok job. Might pay to oil shaver head a bit more.
