I wanted to switch from gravel to sand and like when I first set the aquarium around 9 years ago I decided to use this again and then cover it with sand. I used 2 tubs and then blocked it with sand. Plants are doing really well and this is a really good product.

Incredible plant growth within a few days.
Ordered this for a planted 80litre aquarium, containing a mix of plants and Moss. An 8kg tub will just about give a 2cm depth of substrate, which is the recommended depth by Tetra. Within a few days, plants showed signs of new life, including those that experienced a wilting during transport. Leaves popped and new roots developed quite quickly through the sand. Negatives The substrate is a mix of sand, peat, fertilizer and other materials that will turn your tank water brown. While some reviews suggest washing the substrate, it's best to leave it to settle for 24 hours and then do a water change. Otherwise you wash away the fertilizer and added minerals.

Ottimo fondo fertile – ne basta anche meno del previsto
Prodotto di qualità, ideale come fondo fertile per acquari piantumati. Avevo ordinato due sacchi da 5 kg, ma alla fine con uno solo sono riuscito a coprire bene tutto il fondo dell’acquario vasca da 200lt. Facile da stendere e da coprire con la ghiaia, non intorbidisce l’acqua e favorisce la crescita delle piante. Molto soddisfatto, consigliatissimo per chi cerca un buon substrato senza complicazioni!
