Would this be ok for a motorbike?

It would probably be ok for a motorcycle at home or at the office but I wouldn't want to carry it all the time on my bike. It's to big to practically carry at around.

If someone drives off with this clamp fitted - won't it tear all the bodywork to shreds and damage the car?

This lock doesn't cover the wheels nuts ,so they can simply remove the wheel and place another one if they had access to the wheel nut locks ? Correct

your quite correct, in what you say. but n theory, that can be done with any device ie: chain etc. the idea is its a deterent, i use mine for the rear wheel on my motorcycle in conjucion with another detrent. thinking about what youve said its a good quetion. but if you thnk about cars with keyless locking and starting. they are one of the easyest cars to get into because the thugs have there own little magic box to get round this system. no device is the ultimate detrent. kind regards dave.....
