One Very HAPPY Baller
I built this on my own, and it took me just under 3 hours, I would say that I have average DIY skills... But I did have a ratchet set, which I would HIGHLY recommend! I bought a cheap set from halfords... Did the trick.I'd recommend building it on its side (as recommended in the instructions) and prop the main pole with a bench, don't fully tighten the bolts as this manipulates the main pole, and can cause issues when coming to the final stages (not massively but its a squeeze to fit some bolts)Obviously tighten all the bolts when complete before you erect the structure.Try and put the hoop where you want it before you fill it with water.. Its very heavy!!Take your time, you’ll be fine.

Good, sturdy product. Revised instructions make construction easier than stated in other posts
Overall Rating: 4.0 StarsFinal Product: 4.5 StarsProcess/building experience: 3 starsSeller: 4.5 starsI bought this product as a Christmas present about a week before Christmas. It was delivered before Christmas, but with other commitments I didn’t have enough time for the contents to be checked or assembled prior to Christmas Day.My package came with one set of instructions (it had an exploded diagram of all of the components on the back cover). Having looked through these, it was very difficult to establish whether we had all of the right parts (parts were mis-labelled and quantities were not stated). On commencing to build the basketball net following these instructions it became apparent that some components were missing. This set of instructions were also very poorly set out and had large logical leaps in terms of what you were being asked to do (which is consistent with other comments).I contacted the seller (on Boxing Day), and to their credit, they responded after one business day (28th) providing me with a different, PDF set of instructions. The second set of instructions could easily be followed (it is worth noting that the second set of instructions recommends a different construction order to the first set of instructions). Using the second set of instructions, I managed to determine which components were missing and liaised with the seller. There were a couple of back and forward communications to clarify components, which delayed matters (from both sides), but the missing components were finally received on 5 January 2019.The delay to get the missing parts was frustrating, but at a busy time of year and with a number of Bank Holidays, it became clear that the seller was making every effort. In terms of construction, I have reasonable DIY skills and tools and I managed to put all of it together on my own with occasional assistance from my 10 year old son. Another adult assisted me to raise it from horizontal to vertical when it was finally assembled. In terms of tools, a socket set and adjustable wrench were invaluable! There were a couple of bolts that could have done to be a few millimetres longer (e.g. the bolt that holds the main pole, to the stability struts was difficult to get the nut on to, but with a bit of brute strength I got there)If you order one of these items and only get one set of instructions (with the exploded components on the back page), I would suggest that you contact the seller for the PDF version that they sent me, as they are straightforward to follow. I understand that the PDF instructions should now/soon be shipping with these going forwards in any event though. The final product is sturdy, stable and appears to be robust. The height adjustment takes a little bit of strength (my 10 year old can’t do it by himself), but shouldn’t be difficult for an average adult (the hardest thing is depressing the button on the handle). The kids love it, and it will hopefully be around for a good few years to come. The variety of height settings make it very usable for younger children as well as for adults. As the basketball net / stand is freestanding and extendable, the backboard “gives” a little when the ball is thrown against it, although my kids (who have more experience of this than me) don’t think that it performs any differently from most of the other nets they’ve used, which include steel, concreted in versions in a local park.

Rubbish instructions hard to build
I am used to flat packs and putting things together. However 🤬 This product whilst appears to be a solid quality build scores 1 star for reasons of being so difficult and extremely frustrating trying to use the manual instructions to build it. They are shockingly poor! Confusing text, very bad diagram pictures, tools required (use a 500 watt flood light, magnifying glass and socket wrench extension bar for base etc...) generally very poor instructions start to finish.. Would massively benefit by rewriting the entire manual. I effectively built this at least 2 or 3 times. Every bit I put together was later undone and rebuilt again 180 degrees out. My 50:50 guess was consistent wrong... 🙄😬😳 Let’s hope the sturdy build makes up for the many bleep bleep bleep moments.

very satisfied with it
Overrall, very satisfied with it.Assembling: It was a bit hard to assemble as I had to do it on my own. I only had some help for the last bit. It took me 4 hours. The instructions are not as bad as some other reviewers mentioned but there are not great either. I've got two set of instructions, one that is just a couple of pages and one picture, and another that is a step-by-step with pictures, which was far more helpful. Still, I managed to make a few mistakes while assembling it.The product:- The backboard is not so thick and makes a bit of noise when the ball hits it.- The handle used to adjust the height is not so sturdy. There was a screw missing and I almost broke it. I had to open it, fix it, and screw it back together again.Overall, I'm happy with the product. It's great fun and is better than most I've seen.

Difficult to Assemble
This is a great product. However, it was extremely difficult to assemble. Some of the screws/bolts were the wrong size. Fortunately, we had a builder who could fix this problem. It was also very difficult to decipher the instructions. The photos looked like they'd been photographed one too many times. And it really takes two people to put together. If you're aware of this, you'll be okay. On the positive side, the product does seem sturdy and our 10 year old son is super happy with it, especially the 10 foot rim.

Brilliant Piece Of Kit
Bought this item after looking at reviews for lots of other hoops and stands and I am so pleased that I chose this one.The instructions are pretty good but we did have the odd scratch your head moment but we managed to put it together in about 3hours. Beware it is very heavy once assembled. The height adjustment mechanism is really clever, I never realised how high the hoop is when at full height but the whole thing is very stable.Overall this is a very well built stand for both beginners and experienced players no matter what age .Worth every penny!!!
