What is the height of the column? - I have some other equipment on my desk that I need to clear.

Great 2nd Question ".... Should I buy this item how far from the wall the monitors would be?" Shame it didn't get answered. I have a similarly space constrained need. I will be mounting a 27inch in landscape and a 21.5inch in portrait. As my desk is right up against the wall and my space is quite restricted due to sloping roof. I also need to know how far away from the wall the monitors backs would be with no gap between monitors. Will I need to pull desk away from wall a little to allow some backwards movement of the arms? The desk is 60cm deep dont want monitors right up in my face.

Can you remove an arm off this mount? I’ve got it but now only want one?

yes you can as it is all jointed with hex bolts which can be tightened to lock it in place. these can be removed.
